    Morning all
Tim, glad she went to bed well.
Sue, Kimberly was a clicked box error. A mass mailing. I told them they should have sent out another notice explaining it. When I explained my thinking she was in complete agreement.
    Andy, hope you feel better.
Snoope, might as well put it all out there in one shot.
Chris, don't understand myself sometimes how those numbers work. I do know hard work and moving burns it like fuel stored In a fuel tank. maybe you need to clean out your "injector" for more "flow".

Good morning all, next to the last day of the work week for me. Getting there!

Back in March picked up a 1949 16 ga. Ithaca 37 for grouse hunting. It is almost identical to the 37 I grew up. Been shooting it most of the summer at clays and having a blast. About 2 months ago decided to refinish the wood and just did the final rub out cut it kind of close time wise but it is now ready. I'll have the metal reblued after hunting season.

The hunting coat was my grandfathers who introduced me to hunting, the 37 and 16 ga.

Was about 30 years ago that my grandfather passed away and I was deployed overseas and couldn't make it back for his funeral. Couple months later when I was stateside went to see my grandmother who lost the will to live once grandpa passed and was in the hospital. Talking with her she said that they had got married during the depression and learned that you don't need much in life except for each other. I asked her if grandpa had ever wanted any material things. She was quiet and finally said a hunting coat. He had saved for one and left it in the car when he was hunting once because it was warm and someone stole it. I asked why he didn't lock the doors and she laughed and said cars didn't have locks on them back then. This is the coat that replaced the one that was stolen.

Love in so many ways. I was born to older parents that went through the depression. My mom loved watching The Waltons but he wouldn't watch it. He said had lived through it. He didn't talk about it but I learned later that he tried to save my grandfathers farm after he died but wasn't able to. Part of it is now under Lake Keowee. He died when I was 17 and I really wish I could sit down and talk with him now.

After 20 days in September of 92 degree (or higher) temps, it FINALLY cooled off. 68 for a high today. It was 51 yesterday morning and 54 this morning. Scattered rain showers starting yesterday through Saturday. Gonna light up the burn pile on Friday evening. The wife and I, along with a few friends will be sitting around the fire and relaxing! Love me some fall weather! There's enough tree limbs, etc, in the pile so that it'll burn for 4 to 6 hours most likely. Gonna toss a match into it around 8PM.

amen tim i was raised by my grandparents pretty much. depression era also. my paw paw was my friend, my hero, and my dad. i lost him in '85 rt before i left for the service. our last years together were laiden with his illness, my denial, and my stuborness which i regret to this day. he tought me many things. perhaps the greatest thing he gave me is my work ethic, to take pride in my work, and no job is beneath me when it comes to putting food on the table and a roof over my wifes head. he's been gone 31 years now and i still get choked up whenever i think of him and hope i was at least half the dad to my girls he was to me

Good afternoon or evening , got warmer than expected today and got to 97 degrees which made for another fun day in the garage LOL!!

Camaro is just about done getting cleaned up for the big car show just a few more items on the checklist and I'm ready

Spent some time today checking on my options for a nice Drag race motor and found another good deal on a 14.5:1 410sbc that's capable of a handling a good amount of Smurf Juice

sitting at home with no truck. i dropped it off at the dealership for a service and to have a small oil leak fixed under warranty. they promised me it would be kept inside so no one could st
they had the temps start sanding a dumptruck bed 1 only halfassed sanded it and the other took a diegrinder to it with a very aggressive disc and cut gouges into it. i questioned them but they said it was what they were told to do. so of course when the bosses saw it they told me to take over and prime the areas that were gouged and sand it since it was already partially sanded. since i spot primed the whole bed now i have to sand the whole bed correctly. standing on a 12ft ladder and having to reach out and run the sander and hand sand took it's toll. none of them ever care just get it done while we let the 2 that screwed it up do something easy
