Yeah. Thankfully I have a job, but I'm going crazy doing nothing. I've been asking and asking to be put on a project. I even told my boss I would help the designers with CAD work to stay busy. His response, "well we would have to see how good you are at CAD". WTF!!!! Did you even see my resume when you hired me???? CAD certified with over a decade of experience and I was teaching it for the last 3 years in school.

Here is a funny storie. So two weeks ago my office laid off 33 engineers and designer. Yesterday two managers starting calling the people around me into their offices. I thought it was another round of layoffs. Nope! A handful of designers and engineers got tiny raises. Even after my company issued a global wage delay for the next 2 years.

Just keep your head down and put yourself to work on projects at home. You'll land a project soon enough.

I'm starting to enjoy this job, except for the out of town part. But it's the out of town part that's actually enjoyable. Go figure

I'm keeping my head down and finding a new jobs. I am not liking this process control industry. They need people with electrical and chemical engineering mindsets. My mechanical/3D world brain is not at home here.

I'm am looking at two option.

    1. Get back into the MEP building systems world. That is here I have the most relevant experience. Plus after getting my PE license I have a better chance of becoming a principal engineer or part owner of a firm because of their smaller sizes.

    2. Find a job where I get to do mechanical design and engineering dealing high stress/strain, large loads and in complex environments. With a job like this I would also want to be involved in the overview of the manufacturing processes. Similar to my NOV internship.

Thanks all for the advice. I have looked at the OME's then I was looking at this kit
Coil/Bilstein 5100 Kit w/ Dakars (HS05BK-1-Dakar) from HeadStrong. Just because some people have said the OME shocks do not have enough travel. Where in SE Houston. I am in NE and do not have a problem driving across the bridge on the beltway.

Shop is at 610 and long dr. But yea, do a little more research before dropping a few grand on suspension. Most of it us just name brand. Houston driving will never put those high end shocks to its potential.
@phillstill has some coilovers he just bought. Said they ride amazing

Yes. Radflo coilovers. They will be the same price as icon/King/fox coilovers.

@Fozie you really need to evaluate your driving conditions and how you intent to use your truck.
For example, I do a little bit of off-roading, playing around at the beach, and then I drive like crazy on the worst pothole riddled roads in Houston. For me, I don't need the extra resi's and all. A good set of coilovers and UCA's along with some Dakars in the rear are all I need. That's less then 2 grand. Heck, I could of bought some toytec boss coilovers for half the price of my radflos and would have been fine.
