Yep, seen that. What baffles me is the people who actually have a chance at Nick Saban/Urban Meyer

 

Yeah, it seems like anytime there is a prominent power 5 HC opening, Saban gets tossed around....

 

He just wants you all to pay him more. If LSU ends up getting Jimbo it'll be because we've made him the highest paid coach in college football

 

Saban has a clause in his contract that automatically raises his pay based on other coach's pay.

 

Good for him, do I hear 7 million?

 

Its something like, if he gets outpaced he automatically gets a raise to be within the top 3 highest paid.

I think that was Alabama's way of saying, "we want you to stay, and we don't want you to have to utilize the media and your agent to exploit us for more money".

 

Wow!! I wish I had that clause in my contract. Its amazing how much money Bama is throwing at Saban. Guess it has been worth it though.

 

College coach salaries are ridiculous. That being said I'm happy to pay it as long as we win!

 

Barnett transferred out of Bama.

 

I kinda had a feeling Barnett would leave. He stated so, after committing. Said he wasn't afraid of competition and that he fully expected to start he freshman year. If not, he would transfer.

 

Where will he go? And will they make it hard for him to transfer to SEC schools? I was thinking Miami possibly picks him up, just because of instant playing time with a program that looks to be on the upswing.

 

Isn't that being afraid of competition. "If I don't get the starting job, I'm leaving"

I mean, basically yes. But, it could also be taken as he is highly competitive and wants to play NOW.

Tough situation really.

 

He fully expected to compete, and win. That didn't happen, and, he lost to a true freshman...so, basically his door shut. Plus they just recruited Tau from Hawaii, and he is a high 4 to mid 5 star that just won the Elite Eleven...

 

Oh he is definitely of the spoiled type. Model for a girlfriend, Southern Cal QB that was a 5 star recruit. He does have the size and was the #2 pro style QB in his class. Honestly, it was almost a sure bet he would be the starter specifically at Alabama that typically only utilized the "pro style" QB. That changed this year. Alabama is now utilizing a dual threat QB.
