What kind of carpet liner is that in your bed? That looks very nice.

ABC is the correct type. Really all you need is class A but ABC is the most commonly available

I'd take two small over one large. Mount one in you bed so anyone can grab it if they are responding to your rig on fire, and mount the other where it can be reached from the driver seat while belted in

Is there any danger in having an extinguisher in the cab when it gets hot as hell in the cab in the summer??

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Hot as hell in the cab... hot as hell in direct sunlight.

Why do you think it matters?

Sorry meant to reply to you. I don't have a good picture without the can in place. I'll grab one later tonight I hope to wash the truck today as it's filthy.

:facepalm:No, that is completely backwards. Class A is for solid combustibles. You want class B for flammable liquids and class C for electrical. The problem with ABC extinguishers is that they are corrosive to electrical components so you might save the truck by putting put out a fire under the hood or dash then end up totaling the vehicle a few months later. Get a BC extinguisher using halon, Halotron, powder, etc.

And just hope when you're using your fire extinguisher you aren't in a place with high winds... Like a freeway emergency lane.

Id find the pictures of the trophy truck that cooked to the frame because they had halotron extinguishers and couldn't control the fire due to the wind but you'd just come up with some other reason why I'm wrong cause you've made up your mind like most everyone here has already as well.

Bring something. Any fire extinguisher. You aren't looking to save the truck you're looking to stop it from getting out of fucking control. You're keeping your house from burning down cause your truck randomly sparked up. You're stopping a forest fire from blowing up. You're stopping a fellow camper who got into a bad situation.

A fire extinguisher is about a lot more than hoping you saved the truck. Wanna do that? Plumb in a fire suppression system using foam. Perfectly safe and works every time. But hope you don't gotta drive over your buddy while hes on fire to use it to put out the fire.

I think his point is a burning vehicle is more than a pile of paper on fire. It's fuel, transmission fluid, oil, and electrical components as well.

There are definitely concerns with using a fire extinguisher on a vehicle fire. It will likely total vehicle. A burning vehicle is dangerous do you really need to be near it? Or on a busy road while people are rubber necking the fire? I suppose if there was a small vehicle fire i could try to put it out. All fire X instructions I've seen tell you to dump the retardant contents all at once though. Or if a person was on fire? I have an extinguisher for out of control campfires or small structure fires and the like. Awhile back I passed a small fire (2x2' )on a deserted northern california highway at night. It was near residences. It probably started from a cigarette and If I had an extinguisher at the time I could have pulled over and put it out. I called 911 and moved on. I checked the news and it did not grow into a major blaze but I suppose it could have. On another thread a fire fighting pro said it's better to have one than not.

If it was a large puddle if oil on the ground on fire then yes, that would be a class B fire. But in the vehicle it's all class a.

Take a guess what a fire department uses to put out a vehicle fire? He'll I've put out a few smaller ones with a water can.

    ABC extinguisher is perfect.

If the vehicle involved to the point that the interior and tires are on fire that's a job for a hose truck. Most fires that can reasonably be stopped with an extinguisher are under the hood or under the dash. I've put out several small under hood fires with shirts, jackets, and blankets. And a few more with extinguishersome a few decades ago when working as a mechanic and bodyman. If a car interior is involved it's probably best to just get away unless someone is trapped.

I've put out room in contents fires in houses with a water can. You would be surprised how much fire a water can can extinguish
