Hi all- I have lurked here for a while. Thank you all for the informative (and entertaining at times) posts. I have a 1997 4WD Tacoma extended cab. Some shots below. A friend who received a brush guard with his 1996 that he has since totaled gave me the below guard. For the life of me I can't find a manufacturer or installation instructions. I am hoping this fits my truck, and once I sand and rubberize it will add some flair to my front end. I believe it has to be missing some sort of mounting bracket(s) that allow it to attach at the tow hooks. Of course, I am often wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated. I included some Taco pics for your effort!

looks like the one I had on my 98. It came from Amazon.com. Not sure either on manufacturer. But - not many on Amazon will fit these older trucks. I'd check that out if you want to know. Extra weight will wear out stock suspension (quicker ;) )

Thanks! I was unable to find a direct match on Amazon. Still searching! Luckily these Bilsteins have a lifetime warranty!

Shit, i skimmed thru the post sorry.

Lmao, i thought u found the pics online, and posted them here asking where to get them.
Ive seen alot of ppl do that, they find a pic someone posted of their truck, and they want an item on said truck, but didnt ask the person the pic came from.

Sorry bout that, i swear ive seen somethin like it on Amazon as well.

No worries! The issue is all comparable models have small bars over the light guards and I think most of the brackets are just a bit off. Mine has a one piece welded bull bar, and bolt on light guards that have no metal bars over them.

Thanks! If you look at that post, I actually left a comment yesterday asking about it! I was able to find the same one on a DEEP internet search of a still from a Youtube video with a 4Runner that had bent the light guard. I emailed the lady who posted the video and she said theirs came on it and had no markings (like mine). [IMG]

Unfortunately for me (but perhaps fortunate for them) I believe that is a Warn. A member here was nice enough to message me and let me know if it has bolts holding the center bars on it is likely a Warn, but mine is welded. Thank you for helping!

I tried to do my diligence and not come in as a noob asking something that could be figured out with 5 minutes and a google search! :D Very appreciative of everyone's help. It is quite a caper.

As for installation: the bottom two (L&R) brackets will probably bolt to the frame using the same bolts holding the bumper on - maybe you'll need longer bolts? - You may have to drill the front of the bumper for those two middle mounts. In other words, I don't believe you are missing any brackets...

Here's a quick Google images find of the frame horn - ignore the body lift bracket, but the two bolts holding that bracket on are the bolts that I'm referring to...

I think it's an old school Mile Marker. They seem to be the only ones that welded the bars in. Go industries is very similar but they only handle the Big 3

Thanks! That is what I am looking for. It does seem like the guard is going to hit the bumper, but I need a second set of hands to line everything up and really see.

Thanks! Was just searching Mile Marker guards and I saw an image that was dead on in Google images. Then I realized it was my own pic from this thread.

IMO looking at trucks at bodyshops, these things are not really worth a damn even with hitting a shopping cart at 5mph. They typially fold up like a pool noodle and smash the top of the radiator
