Magnuson supercharger

anybody have it installed yet I am thinking about it. What is the biggest different between the Trd and magnuson? I have and auto and really want to keep the truck for 15 years the less trouble he better. I average 6000miles a year. Dun want a race truck just looking for a little kick and reliability a main factor. I just need some opinions and suggestions. Thanks ahead for anyone chime in.

False. Magnuson manufactured the TRD Supercharger FOR TRD, but they are a completely separate company and not affiliated with TRD in any way now.

But yeah, supercharger is the same, minus the TRD Stamp on the top

 

It's not like a huge boost in power, I think it's only 6-8lbs. Whoever installs it will tune it, I would recommend a Toyota dealership so it will be warranty'd.

Also if it were me I'd do different gears as well.

 

Its a noticeable difference. About 6 lbs of boost. If you combine with Intake/exhaust and a smaller pulley, you'll love it and wish you'd had it longer.

Also false. Unless its a TRD Supercharger, Toyota MIGHT install it, but will NOT warranty it because it's now Magnuson's property.

Urd have a complete set that come with tune and stuff doesn't it just flash the ecu? If I get the tuner kit is there any aftermarket piggy back or standalone for it ?

What are the different that u r talking about?

 

URD Complete set what? If you mean the URD UCON, it's not available yet for 2012+ and yes you can not flash the ECU and run UCON and be fine.

If you get the Magnuson Tuner kit, it comes with the Bully Dog Tuner which the jury's out on about how junk it is. Best bet is o get the Magnuson SC installed wherever but ask a toyota dealer if they will do the TRD SC reflash on your truck still. Since its no longer the TRD SC, they may not do it, or make you sign a waiver or something to get that ECU reflash

 

He's talking about regearing your differential to get some power back, but that's only the case if you went up in size in your tires. If you are still running the stock tire size or close to it, a regear is retarded at that point.

 

My local Toyota dealership who is installing several aftermarket product is warrantying all the products bc they're are doing the installs themselves. So again chill bc your dealership maybe different than mine. Info I send out is correct and I'll attach a pic so you can see everything aftermarket they are including in the warranty. If you'd like to discuss it further we can do it in a pm and not on this guys thread where he's trying to find out info for his truck.

 

I have a really good relationship with a Toyota dealership if it come down to it they will definitely help me out but the problem is no body might know what the fuck I am talking about

 

Big difference between suspension items and a Supercharger there bud. You blow a shock or bust one of your new tires/rims thats an easy replacement. You blow up an engine because of a 'warrantied' supercharger, that's a pretty penny. So again, you have no proof, you're just trying to be 'right'.
