4.56s are most popular with the V6 and 4.88s with the L4.

I'd personally do 4.88s either way. Don't fear the gear.

Depends on who you ask and your particular goals, some say 4.88 is perfect, some say 4.56, in reality there's not much difference between the two. Look at builds similar to yours and go from there.

Has anyone ever just ran their stock gears with 35s? Had any issues?

Never saw any threads about it specifically, just gossip about transmissions ran ragged by doing it for extended periods. I ran 35s on my overweight, armored automatic on stock gears the other day on the interstate, it acts sluggish and the transmission hunts for gears, acceleration is also compromised, pretty all around bad experience behind the wheel. I currently have my axles torn apart doing a gear swap to 4.56.

I ran 35s on my 4cyl 5spd for a week on the stock 4.10 gears 5th was useless and 4th could barely hold its own. Armoured up and had my rtt on as well. Went 4.88s never looked back. Secret option number 3 for you v6 guys find a wrecked 4cyl 4x4 and take the front diff and rear 3rd and get cheap 4.10s provided you down have the 8" diff
