This is cool. I'm a female and a nurse. Probably the only forum out there where the male nurses outnumber the ladies! I am probably the minority at my hospital for female pickup truck owners. Proudly driving my '16 Tacoma that I've had for about 3 weeks. My first Toyota. My first non-GM or Ford product.

I've been an RN for 6+ years. Worked in long-term care and med/surg for about the first year then I moved to a family practice clinic for 5 years and now I'm a homecare/hospice nurse case manager and I also do jail nursing at our county jail. I'm hoping to start working towards my BSN but I just want to feel competent with homecare/hospice first.

I never envisioned myself as a nurse but I love it. It was not on my list anywhere as a kid when I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I decided I needed to use my GI Bill for something that would guarantee a job and I'm glad I chose nursing. I love hospice! I loved clinic nursing, too. A lot of people might poo-poo it but it was a hard and exhausting job. I don't think I worked at a typical clinic - lots of IVs, chemotherapy, cardiac rehab, GXTs, urgent care, anticoagulation clinic, occupational health...it was busy and only 4 or 5 RNs to do all of that plus all immunizations, wound care, telephone triage, and assisting with minor surgeries and joint injections for 15 docs and NPs.

Anyway, I was in the Army for 6 years in the Signal Corps and I was a police dispatcher after that until I started nursing school full time. I don't think any guys were in my graduating class of nursing school.

I'm new to the forum and it's great to see how popular the Tacomas are. I really had no idea until I decided to buy one.

I used it at my peds clinical hospital and I like it; the UI is very busy, but once you use it for a few days it makes a lot more sense. The systems my local hospitals use are quite archaic, though kind of easier to extract or isolate information out of due to the cleaner user interface.

I don't think she has to do anything. From what I understand, it's a single private owner....now she has minions doing all her work!

The inpatient system at my hospital is medi-tech. It's DOS based and it's horrid to navigate. Luckily we have our own system in the ED.

I started my Flight position this week. I don't believe i'll be actually flying for about 6 months for training but on top of the copious amounts of computer training i did get to go on a couple days worth of critical care ground transports. looking forward to what this job is eventually going to be.

I am a CRNA (Nurse Anesthetist) at a 450 bed hospital in Louisville. Started as an LPN when I got out of the Marines, transitioned to RN, to BSN, MSN and now working on DNP. Have worked nursing homes, home health, ventilator rehab, Neuro ICU, and Transplant ICU. Was married to an Army Nurse that worked with wounded warriors until he passed away three years ago from esophageal cancer at the young age of 48..... He was the reason I got my Taco. My truck is almost identical to the truck he had when we met..... Semper Fi!

I bet the money's great, but so is the liability. Remember, anesthesiologists have the highest liabilities when it comes to physicians.
