And the wheels are on today! I think they look epic!

Surprisingly the dealership was the least expensive. Quoted me $60+tax to swap TPMS from stock wheels to new wheels, mount and balance wheels.

They also performed a TSB on the transmission to help with shifting points and run smoother and I can definitely feel the difference.

I have a KB voodoo mid height rack for long bed for sale. Worked great with my RTT just need a cap for my tools. 500 obo located in Wells ME..not too far for you CT folk

Picked these up Sunday from a member. Met half way, somewhere in NJ.

17" Sport wheels painted black with practically new Blizak winter tires.

Thinking about getting them put on Monday. Or is it too soon for winter tires?

 

I think it's way too soon for winter tires. I usually put mine on for my car when I had it as soon as temperature started getting into 30/40 and snow was in the forecast.

 

True... but I'll be honest here. I'm fucking dying to slap them out to see how the black wheel will look on the truck, since it's also black. Been thinking about doing black wheels for quite some time now, so that was a big reason why I jumped on the sale right away.

 

Waaayyy too warm for the Blizzaks. The warm temps wear the rubber much faster. I typically wait until early December (or the first snow) before I put my snows on.

Hahaha that's funny cause I'm looking at a set of like 305/70R16 except these are go in on my stock steel wheels that come on the base models and I'm planning on using them for winter/ off-road shennanaginns hahaha not even a clue if I spelt that right but anyways I'm thinking of going with the COOPER DISCOVER STT PROs

 

On my last truck (96 Cummins), I ran Cooper MTs in 255/85. 2 sets with the winters being studded on all 4 corners. The narrow width and weight (just over 6500lbs empty) really helped with traction in the snow. I'd imagine 305s would float a bit, especially under the light Tacoma.

 

I wouldn't put them on till the first snow fall or first major threat of a storm!

 

Yeah... thinking of just doing that.

Was super psyched to have them on but now everyone burst my bubble, so going to wait.

Makes sense though, to wait. I guess I just wanted to see them on the truck ASAP to see how it would look.

That's wicked awesome I had a mini vacation in mid September I worked mon/wed and had Thursday thru Monday off and went in late Tuesday cause I was feeling lazy hahaha and then in November I'm off the 7th thru the 11th then the week of thanksgiving I'm off as well I can't wait for the nice break from work and retreat to the woods and spend my days 18-20ft high in a tree
