hey! when you relocated the cab mounts (I am installing the redgoat fab mounts tomorrow) was there any concerns of fire or anthing then? I know you mentioned the fire when tubbing the wheel wells for 37s which I totally understand. I just wasnt sure if it was the same concern when just welding on the new mounts (or even cutting off the stock ones?). I was looking at draping a wet clothe over the thin break lines that run along the frame just to keep those things cooler than not.

I want to make sure Ive thought through the important stuff that could go wrong (like fire haha). Thanks!

I used a cut off wheel for most of mine, and then finished with a grinding wheel. I just paid attention of where the sparks were being thrown. Wet towels are a good thing though. Good luck

I just read through the whole build thread after seeing some of your posts in the cab mount relocation thread. Nice build! Are you still running stock diffs? (I know you did gears and I think I read air locker somewhere)

No problems with the giant tires on the stock 8" diff? Sounds dangerous

I run the 39.5's for winter wheeling then 35's the rest of the year. I primary snow wheel and have had no issues. I'm not a heavy pedal wheeler. I'm sure if I were on the rocks with good traction I'd be another story.

The plan will be to do a SAS in the years to come.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info. I'm still on 33s, eying 35s for the spring time. I was considering doing some extra cutting when I made room for the 35s in order to have room for a bigger snow wheeling tire. TW makes me nervous about the stock diff, but it's good to hear you haven't had issues in the snow. I are snow wheeling n00b

Haws I have moar snow wheeling questions! I've been reading what I can find but apparently snow wheeling isn't as popular as I'd like it to be.

It sounds like I should be running like 4psi, which makes me think beadlocks are needed. Buuut, lots of pictures I see do not look like guys are running beadlocks. what do you recommend ? on dirt/rocks I leave tires at like 18psi and I don't have any experience going lower for fear of losing a bead.

What about tire choices and home mods? it looks like a lot of guys use a mud terrain with a soft sidewall then add a ton of siping with a grooving tool. Is that the best way to go?

I run 39.5 Iroks and will drop as low as 4psi. Ive blown one bead after sliding 4 feet while side hilling. I normally run 6 in the front and 4 rear. I bought beadlocks this year even though in the last 3 years I've only blown one. I think tire choice as well as how stiff they are determine how low you can go.

I guess its time to post some newer pictures. I haven't done many new mods since swapping my rear axle out to a shaved 14 bolt however Im playing with the idea of doing something different with my IFS. SAS is so expensive and time consuming and Im not really sure its what I need for snow wheeling. Been eyeing Marlins setup
