Cool! that's what I figured. if the manual safety near the slide is in your "needs" basket, Glock goes out the door. There are quite a few other gun makers that still make it on your list that you could try out. I recommend heading to a gun shop and scanning over their selection. Pick up a few and see if they fit your list. Ask the sales guy as many questions as you need to make sure a specific firearm is right for you. Folks over the inter-webs can only tell you so much. lol

Well, it does depend on what store you go to as far as the sales people. Some of the most stupid things I've heard came from behind the counter. Do as much research as you can before going to the store. That way you have an idea if they know what they are talking about.

No manual safety on a striker fire gun is fine with me. I prefer a safety on a hammer fired gun.

You can get either. If it will be carried on your body, no safety is preferred. If it will be anywhere kids may have access to it, like the truck console or wifes purse, the safety is preferred.

it will be on my body alot, however we do have godchildren who are usually here so when it is in my truck or something, i would much rather have a safety.

Bed rug, ARE bed top, Weathertechs. Little goodies here and there!
Ruger has some pretty good sales happening now. Some of them have the safety. I have a SR9 and a SR22. They both have the safety and will shoot anything that I put through them and I've shot A lot.. Little big for carry, but I have a beretta and LCP for that. Yeah I like the Rugers. The little Lcp is a handful when shooting bur great pocket carry.

Got my wife a new S&W Victory .22 for her birthday today. NICE gun, feels good, ought to be a good starter for her. Now that I've escaped the People's Republic of NJ, am picking up all sorts of toys, now that I don't have to wait soooo long. CCW weapon for me, maybe 2, and an AR or AK, before the election (just in case).image_zpst8qlyaf6_2432ff14cc21649be25c464ff6d743e6ee8cfe99.jpg

Let us know your thoughts. I'm on a constant quest for the perfect rimfire pistol. I've been through a dozen, some good, some meh, but the Victory looks interesting.

One I'm looking forward to is the Ruger MK IV. I currently have two MK IIs and one MK III. I've had several others I've sold. I love the feel of the MK II 22/45. The only issue I've ever had was the difficulty in disassembly. Now the MK IV addresses that. I didn't feel the MK III was an upgrade of the MK II, but the MK IV might be the best yet. Hope they bring out a threaded model in the next 6 months so I can have a reason to get one.

I have a MkI and an MKIII 22/45. Both are good. I also have an M&P compact 22, and a Beretta Bobcat. Also a S&W kit gun 22 revolver. In the past I've tried a Buckmark, a S&W M&P full size 22, a couple S&W 22As, and probably others I can't think of at the moment.

I really need to order a S&W 617, but it's tough to drop close to 4 digits on a 22.
