Winch gets installed!! :woot: trying to plan something soon though. I can text you the deets once I know more.

Busy weekend even though it was rainy and cloudy..

Spent 3 hours yesterday washing and waxing the truck and cleaning up the engine bay of Caitlyn..just in time for it to start raining :pout:

But at least she will be good for the shit weather that the Midwest gets. Still have to either fluid film or POR her undercarriage, but we all know that's already a losing battle..especially with all the salt they dump.

    Other things:

I opened up the winch box this weekend and installed the flatlink and cable "sleeve" onto the winch line..getting stoked for the install.

A shot at what will be living in the belly of the beastly Pelfreybilt bumper:

    IMG_6042.jpg

I also noticed that this *enter dollar amount here* sticker I bought from @ChandlerDOOM is not holding up well..might be looking for a replacement soon..

Gotta work out the wiring and get it how I want it, but technically it's wired and working! Going to see the brother-in-law next Saturday to get all that sorted. I'll be ready to winch out those Jeeps in no time!

I was wondering the same. Mine works out great on top of the winch cause I can reach behind the grill/through the grill/up from under the side of the bumper

Solenoid is behind the grille and easily reachable. Engage/free spool is easily accessible from the driver's side hi lift mount of the bumper.

It looks like you have to open the hood to plug in the remote, just pick up a wireless remote to make life easier

Also you can probably clock the clutch handle forward to make it closer to the opening

Thinking the wireless remote is the route to go. Working on another solution with the controls this coming weekend, but I will add the wireless remote to the list

Spent some time on the truck today..first thing I did was blow apart the racks and grease the bolts for the crossmembers. I think there were only 2 bolts I could not get out but luckily, those bars aren't moving..

While I was doing that, the brother in law was busy with a multimeter figure out the solenoid box wiring so I could wire the winch up to my OTRATTW switchs in the iggy panel. Took a little work, but we got it figured out! :woot:

    IMG_6133.jpg

Last was some swag; I added the southeast overland sticker and patch as well as the WARN sticker..couldn't forget about the YAAAS!

    IMG_6132.jpg

I also have some new Sasquatch lights coming for the rear rack..special announcement on these once I get them SOON :anonymous:

I'll grab some shots of the mounts when I get home later on.

So far so good and no complaints at all. Only thing I did was pick up a set of these bed stiffeners: I recommend them to anyone with a shell regardless of an RTT or not.

I know I have heard of some people running a ratchet strap across the tailgate opening but this seems like a better bit of "peace of mind"
