It all depends on your plans and if it is a major disaster when it breaks down

Mechanical things break and most times at the worst place like the Cross Bronx going North on Friday night rush hour

Nice! What front bumper is that? And good decision keeping it Zenki!

As for the 4runner: as long as the rest is in good shape and the maintenance has been performed I'd steal it. Try to bring it under $4k

A friend owns a performance shop called Tays Performance. He does mostly Sr and rb swaps. One of his clients didn't want that front bumper anymore. I bought many of my aftermarket parts from Tay. Tay has a 97 240sx with a RB26 and T70 turbo at 800 hp. It's a beast! I got a pic of his motor somewhere.

Me personally, don't feel comfortable driving a car with 224k miles as a primary vehicle cause mine broke down several times. Been there done that. I have the money to drive something newer. However as a 2nd car, a beater, hell yeah I rock that thing out. My brother also recently bought a beated up 91 fj80 landcruiser 4x4 with 200k, 5 inch lift and 35 inch tires for $3,800 so he don't have to drive his nice car everyday.

    Not hard to understand.

    It's not an eye catcher.

It would have to be rust free and pass a compression/leakdown test. If you suspect paint work has been done, a pliable kitchen magnet is your friend in looking for bondo.

Then connect a scan tool and look for pending codes. The light may not be on; doesn't mean there isn't an upcoming or recently cleared (but not fixed) problem.

It would have to pass a fine tooth comb inspection of brakes, fluids, suspension condition, wiring condition etc etc.

Third if you can't document major service work like timing belt, water pump, belts, hoses and coolant, you need to plan on doing them immediately and consider that part of the price.

I'm not saying it's a bad buy. Just that anecdotal evidence of others with high milers isn't the guide here, a little work and discovery is.

nun away? no, 224k isn't a lot but yes its a few more miles then ideal so just expect it to need a whole front end replaced along with brakes all around.

just keep those numbers in mind and price it accordingly expecting those expenses

as for boat towing it better be a v6 otherwise you wont be able to tow anything more then a flatboat with it and even a v6 has to strain to pull a small boat. these little trucks don't have a lot of pulling or stopping power
