So I picked up my 2017 double cab TRD sport last night and drove home. Loved it! On the way into work this morning, at 80km (50 miles) on the odometer, the CEL light comes on, the TRAC OFF light comes on and the truck goes into limp mode. Needless to say the dealership is on the way to work so I stopped immediately.
The dealership was great and obviously concerned. The scanned the truck and inspected it for mechanical issues. Apparently the code came back as the B sensor on the cam shaft indicator. They said they hadnt seen this particular code before and were going to send it to Toyota to see if it is a known issue. They cleared the code and asked me to monitor it. I drove it afterwards and it seems fine now.
    Anyone seen this before?
Glad I got the extended warrantee.

Do you need to know, or care?
Hmm, interesting, guess there always could be a bad sensor manufactured out of hundreds of thousands. Sounds like the dealer has your back, just unfortunate it happens right off the lot.

    Keep us updated OP.

^^^ That ... CPS sensor known issue. I would have that replaced ASAP. That problem can get you stranded ... in a Canadian winter that might not be the best time to have that problem again. I'd insist on a CPS sensor change.

I haven't seen a new GM (under 30k miles) break down and have to be towed in for years. Same can't be said for new tacomas

Me personally. I work at the dealer every day for several years. We haven't had a new car tow in broken down since 2011 or so. Broken, yes, that's a given. But nothing that's left a customer on the side of the road.

We sell 500+ cars a month. Every franchise

Anyone can go online and find broken vehicles

Yeah, and I'm with a group1 store selling 500 plus Toyota's a month. Never seen a new Tacoma with any of the "common" issues being reported by the owner, never mind towed in. Does that mean anything? Of course not.

I was stating my observations. Please reread my post. Doesn't say "no GM has ever broke down"

That's the first search result, there were dozens more, and even several other people complaining in that very thread.

Thanks for clarifying, but you were obviously trying to make a snide remark, not that it matters, but don't get upset when people respond with a similar tone. :)

Colorados are junk. That's why I own a Tacoma. But none have left a customer stranded that I have seen In
