Yeah I still sometimes wonder wtf I was thinking when I got a matching 5th wheel... that lives under the truck since I don't rotate in either. Of course at this point my spare tire doesn't even match the rest since I went from 265/75 to 235/85. Was too cheap to spring for a new one, missed a couple of used ones, haven't found (or looked very hard) since.

However I will say my last flat experience (not my truck, my mom's 4Runner) was halfway down the trail in the middle of nowhere near Dinosaur... so the spare did have to get us farther down the trail. :D

That's GVWR, not curb. Or you DCs are a lot heavier than my AC. Curb weight on a 2nd gen should be just under 4k. Depending on how good the scales at Crystal Landscape are, mine always comes in around 3900.

    That's another Michelin dig isn't it... :p

I ran a set of the old ones I got used for about 30k or so. They were a nightmare to balance, but I had no complaints on or off road until I got pretty low on tread. They went to shit for water and snow real fast. I'm now on a set of the new ones, there were no issues balancing them, and wet/snow performance has been great. Haven't done a lot of off-road since getting them though, annual trip this year didn't include my truck.

Tread block (not just sidewall) sure looks different to me. :notsure: I mean, yeah, it's a similar design, but... Couldn't argue construction one way or the other, mostly because I'm too lazy to dig up specs. Besides, ash already has it covered. :D

I don't think it was. Back in January when I was looking the only 255/85/16s I could find were MT tires. Because that's the size I wanted, but I did not want an MT. , And I did specifically look at Coopers. I did notice, like @BDN is finding, that if you went to 17s you got more options. Which kind of annoyed me. I mean I had 17s stock and I went to 16s for two reasons. One, I just didn't like the Sport wheel styling, and two, more sidewall better off-road. Then they start shifting everything to 17s... Almost like when I first got my truck everything was kind of moving from 15s to 16s (although at a later stage of that transition).

So I decided to clean my MAF sensor and throttle body today, before I change my spark plugs.. It was pretty easy and they were actually really clean for having 102k on my truck and never being cleaned before... :) It took maybe a 1/2 hour..
Now I gotta find something else to get into :D

You should keep it as an extension.

Yeah that is GVWR but I never weighed mine in stock form on a scale. So who knows what it is.

Have some extra 14ga stainless from another project so I had InSain Fab cut and bend me a piece to give my work bench a nice working surface.

Finally got my phone to talk with my computer (didn't know there was a Windows 8.1 and USB 3.0 issue; USB 2.0 worked fine), and here's an in-camera (LG G4) HDR shot of the Sept. 30th sunrise:

And as the sun got higher (not HDR):
