Pros: They stick the wheel out. This is good for clearing the UCA with wider tires. Also, stance broo. Stance. Many people run them with zero issues and also wheel like a mofo
Cons: You must maintain them properly. This means using blue loctite, Checking torque after the first 100 miles driven, and then checkign torques every tire rotation after that. Do that and you'll be fine.

Thanks! that clears things up for me. I plan on getting 265/75r16 on stock rims for now. But if i got wider tires in the future, it seems that I would probably need the spacers. Thanks again @EatSleepTacos! Ur advise is much appreciated!

hey @EatSleepTacos , I forgot to ask, what about when u go trail riding with wheel spacer on? Will it not damage the axle and the components related to the steering, rotor, or wheel? I feel like it would be weakened when going on trails. (not rock climbing or anything, just leisure rides on the dirt)

Wheel spacers effect the truck absolutely no different that a wheel with more dish.....Track width is track width.

I've had 1" Bora spacers on my truck for a year and a half. About 33,000+ miles. Plenty of that has been off road. Everything from steep hills, rocky climbs, sand dunes, dirt and mud. Quite a bit of towing a camper trailer. Not the first indication of a problem with parts, the handling of the truck, tires/wheels, etc....ZERO problems. These trucks aren't built on a razors edge of failure with just a little variation from stock....They're tougher'n people realize.

What about if I'm looking for a 2.5" lift, I don't off-road at all, it's a pure street truck. Would a spacer lift with AAL be ok or should I just go with 5100 up front at 2.5" with AAL in the rear?

Any input would greatly appreciated, I didn't want to make a new thread. :)

X2 on what's said above. There are people on here who wheel harder than we ever will, run spacers, and are totally fine.

So to answer your question, your truck would be totally fine with either option. With the spacers you risk bottoming out the shock, and with 5100s you preload the coil which will translate into a rough ride.

If you're already buying 5100s, spend the extra $165 and get aftermarket coils. OME 885s will net you that 2.5" lift and ride a lot smoother. I have that exact set up

Will I bottom out the shock even on the street? What about top mount spacers ?

Most likely, you won't. The possibility is still there though, with a deep pothole for instance. Just something to think about. You'd be MUCH better off waiting and buying a better lift. You can get 5100s all around, AAL, and OME coils for $650 (parts only)

What are you running in the rear? Think I'm steering towards your set up.

Wheelers off-road 2" single AAL. If I could do it over, I'd go 3 leaf progressive AAL. Much smoother ride.

If you do not want to go over $800 I would recommend Bilstien 5100's and Toytec Coil Springs, Top spacer, and Rear AAL for a 3" lift front and 2" rear. For 2wd models it can be had for around $638 shipped, and for 4wd with a diff kit can be had for $668 Shipped. I have the same setup except the rears I have 5160s and the ride height and ride is excellent. Depending on what wheels and tires you have you might have to do some trimming.

Just a very slight shudder on take-off with the 2" lift in the rear.

    Still on stock UCAs too!
