Just ordered a set of Stealth 6s for my 15 AC ( arriving in Dec),Was considering BFG AT KO2s but I have heard some rumors of balancing issues because of the new sidewall design . Does anyone who has been running these have any opinions or experiences they can share ? Thanks !

This tire is not made to factory specs so you'll be forced to buy a heavy E rated tire that's going to kill you mileage and butt dyno at lights.

My mileage with 265/75/16 is 18-20 mpg. I had load C Cooper AT3 same size and both giving me same mileage.. agree with butt dyno though... definitely won't be in a hurry to leave the light any more..

Had them on my Tacoma, looked great and balanced great. That's as far as it goes, I gotta say I'm gonna get ripped because the bandwagon is strong but KO2s are over rated. So far I've had 3 different tires on my Tacoma. So yes I have others to compare to. They have a strong side wall for off road but are weak in deep mud, and sand and pretty basic for off road. On road they feel stiff and gas mileage sucks, again over rated in my opinion. You can get a much better all terrain tire for the money, maybe not the looks.

I agree. Look good, but are marginal (at best) off road.

My feelings exactly. I had KO2s (the old ones) on my Silverado, and I have Michilan LTX/AT2 on my Taco. I do light offroading, lots of winter ice/snow, and some nasty, muddy, rocky logging roads. All of these tires are a compromise of a tire you can tolerate on the highway, but it's still decent in the deep shit, and good on ice and snow. I feel the LTX/AT2s are just as good in the rough stuff as the KOs, neither handle the big dirty as well as a 'real' crawling/mudding tire. Both are decent in the snow and ice, both are decent at not getting punctured (I had 2 flats on my KO2s and one on my LTX/AT2s). The biggest difference for me is the AT2s ride much nicer on the highway, are lighter and quieter, get better mileage. In fact the only disadvantage of the LTX/AT2 is that it doesn't look nearly as cool as the BFG KO2. It looks like a 'normal' truck tire.

If you wanna look badass, the KO2 is defiantly the way to go.

I've had mine for a year.

On the road they like to spin in the wet, really have to be careful when it's wet and cold out. when it's above 70 it's not a big deal. In the dry they are pretty good.

offroad i did some light wheeling and had no problem.

Not if you run a 17" wheel. Then you can run them is 265/70R17 C-load.

The KOs ("the old ones") and the KO2s are completely different tires. While they look similar at first glance they are actually very different, including larger tread voids for better off-road traction compared to the tight blocking of the KO. The KO2 is not going to compete off road with a dedicated MT tire. I've run both the KO and KO2, I will never buy they KOs again.

Is that the stock 17 inch tire size, I though the 17's were 265 65 17?

You are correct on the stock size, 265/70R17 is 1" larger than stock. But you can run them fine on no lift.
