    Hi there,

I just bought my first Tacoma last night - a 2011 Double Cab TRD @ 27,xxx miles. I'm stoked. Just took it to the family property this afternoon and exercised the 4WD a bit. Wasn't muddy today, but was still fun to cruise around with it.

I don't have any serious off-road plans, but I am thinking about some kind of bumper/brush guard of sorts, and maybe some new wheels/tires, which might mean a lift as well I guess?? This will happen over time, and I'm sure my thinking will change after learning here. I have an awful lot of reading to do.

Unfortunately, the truck already has what appears to be a known issue...the radio is having fits. It seems to happen during colder temps (morning) and works fine in the afternoon. I found some info that seems to suggest it might be a the pins in the connector on the back of the radio. Might have to tinker with it, or just get a new unit.

Anyway, thanks for having me. I'll be in the shadows reading for now!

Yeah, guess I forgot that part!

Not sure what the first mods will be...might take time as it is.

I was thinking the brush guard or whatever just because I'll be driving around taller grass/weeds and some branches at times. I think I'd probably lean toward new tires first though.

    What would you guys suggest?

There you go! haha. Nice truck man! I would start with a Tacoma bed-mat. Can't go wrong there.

I'd probably do a lift and new tires.
