    Good news btw!

It only make sense to me that toyota motors, if not all vehicle motors, have reserve power ready to tap into, it just depends on the way you tap into it and I strongly believe that this is one of those ways.

Thanks for all the help from the TWLR's! ...so far

I should note. My airbox was spotless inside. Not even any dust. So the location that it's pulling fresh air is perfect.

    Hey everybody,

First post. Got my truck about 4 months ago. Really interested in this mod, nice work Gtek.

Couldn't you also use a hole punch instead of drilling?

    Thanks!

If you're an electrician and you're thinking of using like a greenlie ko punch just make sure it's 2-1/2" od.

Not many people have access to a knockout set. I have a set that goes up to 5 inch. I'm an electrician and use it all the time.

I never thought to use a ko set on this mod even when I first did it to my 5.7 tundra back in 2007! It would for sure be easier and it would probably make a nice clean hole!

I used a Lenox hole saw. Worked good. But grabbed super hard.

Ya if anyone uses a hole saw go high speed when cutting and kind of lean the drill to start a little cut at first then slowly straighten it out.

I do a lot of generators and transfer switches as well.

Looking forward to trying the ko punch, how do I get my hands on one of your kits?

If all goes well with the lab rats results I'll be putting together a large batch of kits so hang tight.

Maybe we should start a list of people interested.

Put quite a few miles on my truck today. Fuel mileage appears to be slightly improved. I'd say 0.5mpg or so. Definitely has a "growl" while in Atkinson mode. Low to mid range throttle response is much more responsive

0.5 is a lot when my truck tops out at 18mpg under ideal conditions.

Initial impression: Increase in induction noise, but less than I would think from an aftermarket intake (past experience in other vehicles, not tacoma though). Seemingly improved throttle response and low torque.
-This may be more noticeable to me as I have 6MT. Others may notice as well but there is a slight delay in power delivery (computer control) that AT people may not notice since upshifts are under constant acceleration. This is improved and even if it just sounds like she's working harder, it is more enjoyable.

No MPG report until i can do my daily commute (Fuelly in my sig is from day 1 and pretty constant at 19 so we can all see). But as for this tank, I have been getting on the throttle and enjoying the music it makes up high.
