just installing a kit i purchased from toytec online on my 2015 tacoma sport double cab. front and rear bilstein 5100 shocks add a leaf in the rear and 112 -620 coils in the front with the top plate spacers. ive installed the rears no problem, everything looks great. been battling with the front for awhile. i wish i originally paid the extra $100 to assemble the coils. took me forever with my spring compressor, have them set on the second setting from the bottom. anyways ive managed to get them both together and installed, but the springs seem way too stiff. im having trouble getting the bolts for the lower ball joint installed. it wont compress if i jack it up off the lower control arm either. any ideas what im doing wrong?

The coils already have 1.6" of lift with no preload. The 2nd notch may be too much preload.

i was just going by what it said in the instructions. i wanted the full 3" of lift so i went with the second notch and top lift spacers. it definately seems like too much in there. should i try it on the first notch instead?

No problem brah. People do it all the time. It should go a little easier for you when you get them flipped.

I know. Doesn't seem like it would support the weight of the front of the truck. Never heard of one of them failing though. That's likely the reason why they have them oriented the way they do. It keeps the c-clip in place.

For future reference for 5100 install. No need for a spring compressor. This way is quick and easy. Safer than those typical spring compressors. This is a pretty popular method used by people on tacomaworld. Ive used it on 2 different tacomas. Works great.
