Throttle body coolant ran from supercharger coolant?

I'm not sure if anyone running a supercharger has thought of this yet, but it randomly came to me. Has anyone tried running the throttle body coolant from the TRD superchargers auxilary coolant system instead of the main coolant system?

In theory this would produce enough heat to keep the throttle body from freezing, but a good bit less than the motors coolant, while also serving as a further means (though possibly small) of cooling the supercharger coolant. I figure it could be worth doing if it can both lower intake temperature as well as lower supercharger temperature even if it's minor. Especially if doing so is completely safe due to the heat from the supercharger unit.

Has anyone heard of doing this or should I be the first? Also, does anyone see any drawbacks to doing it that I'm overlooking?

I remember reading that the gains were very minimal when plugging the throttle body lines. So I'm guessing you're way would be the same. I was thinking the same as plugging mine in the summer but left it after reading that. But I don't have near the heat soke as yall do. @Torspd want to chime in on this one with your vast knowledge.

I know the gains from just plugging the lines are minimal. And the chance of damaging the throttle body actuator make it certainly not worth it to me. But the ability to both cool the intake charge as well as the supercharger while not posing a risk to the throttle body make me wonder why it hasn't been attempted.

I would say if live south where it doesn't get cold it wouldn't hurt it. I don't know what the minimal temp would be to keep it from freezing up. See if you could find any info on that. But I would think running the supercharger coolant through it would produce enough heat to keep it from freezing in the cooler months. Give it a try and do before and after temps.

Which is hotter? The S/C's coolant or the engines? I imagine the engine. I do not know for certain, when in boost though.

    In theory, you are correct.

Now this I do know. A guy on XRU removed his heater hoses from the cab, and ran his s/c hoses into the cab ports. Then was able to cool the s/c temps with the A/C running.

He no longer had heat, so I mentioned putting a pair Y-blocks manual valves, in line. To be able to switch the valves when it was in the cold months. It would be a lot extra hose to maintain cab heating.

LOL, didnt the extra drag of the AC compressor negate any gains from that?

No. He just mimicked what Ford had done with their Lightning. Besides, under WOT the clutch disengages.

It just cools the temps lower than ambient, for a short while.
