Got a lot of my prepping done this weekend. Sandbags, food, cash, gas, flashlights charged, etc. Anybody else getting ready to hunker down on the coast? I'm really not liking the models so far with the high pressure ridge forming more and more off the coast of fl :|

I had just moved up to Satellite Beach (i was 7 or so then) but my grandparents stayed down in Homestead and went through it. I still remember going down there after to help them rebuild and can still remember the devastation even though i was so young. I'll always remember a mobile park that was completely wiped out, but the trees reminded me of christmas trees because they were completely wrapped with sheet metal. I still feel this thing will be going up FL's coast as a cat 4, but praying not. :goingcrazy:

Good luck OP, hope everything turns out ok for everyone.

I remember Andrew. Was in West Palm Beach and flew out one day before the storm after spending 2 weeks on vacation in FL. From the aircraft you could see the cloud formation, to say spectacular would be an understatement. Not so good for the people below.

Anybody wanting good info on the storm check out this guy's site below. He's hit it on the head multiple times when the GFS was wrong. I follow this and the EURO tracks more than the NHC.

Stay safe! I am on the west coast so we should only see a little rain here.

    Yup, sandy sucked up here.
Made a lot of money after the storm doing restoration work, but you quickly get into zombie mode after a stretch of 14 hour days.

Thanks, is it sad I'm really concerned with sheltering my tacoma as we don't have a garage, just a covered area?

Not good when the GFS and Euro models both agree Matthew will be right off our coast. Get prepared if you haven't already!
