My wife noticed my parking lights were on when she left for work the other morning. I am certain all my lights were off when I parked it the previous night. Now I wake up to the dash, parking, license plate, etc. lights stuck on. Even if i pull the "tail" fuse they remain on. Help!

It sounds fairly obvious thar you have a short somewhere. I would say in the actual switch. There should be a constant power lead to the switch giving you the ability to turn the lights on even with the the truck off. That may be shorting to another wire, or the internals of the switch. Well that's my guess anyways, wish I could be of more use. :anonymous::notsure:

Two things control the taillights, the headlight switch which triggers the tail relay via the BCM. I'd be looking at simply swapping the tail relay with another relay on the junction box.

The box is a bastard to get at, the relays are the 3 behind the fuse's that you were playing with. The 3rd from the bottom.

Edit: If the 10a tail fuse is out, those lamps have no power. This leads me to thinking there is a short, sometimes this happens in the bulbs themself or from trailer wiring damaged on the hitch.

Thanks for the replies! So since the lights stay on with the fuse out, and since it is all of them the short is probably in the switch? Bishop, if you dont mind could you expand on the first part of your comment? Ive been looking at both fuse boxes and trying to follow wires to find any relays or fuses but have not had much luck on my quest lol.

The switch doesn't have juice, the switch makes ground to chassis.

The BECU (circuit inside junction block) also switches circuit to ground
Are you certain you removed the correct tail fuse?

Bishop makes an excellent about the bulbs and wiring.

My guesstimate is a short somewhere in the wiring. If you didn't remove the correct fuse then it's a stuck relay.

I'm hoping I can get some help again. That diagram is a little confusing to me if Im being honest. I have replaced the relay and it didn't work. With the relay removed the lights will go off. Otherwise they stay on. Does this mean most likely a short in the switch? would that be the actual switch on the left of the steering column?

Yes it be one ground to TAIL circuit. But the other ground of circuit is inside the BECU. (as in auto-shut off)
