    With old plank size "repurposed" wood going for $5/Lf and up, I figured I'd rip some beat up plywood and start experimenting with various stains to see how industrial/vintage I could get.

    Nice work. Have you tried the vinegar and steel wool method? It can give the wood a grey patina.

    You can find a hot manure pile and bury it in that; nothing I know of ages wood faster.

    The thing with vinegar/steel wool is the stain will be different the longer it sits. Right now is when you will get the grey patina. The longer the wool dissolves the more red/orange it will get. It will eventually look like a scrap yard rust puddle.
