Should I buy a 2004 Tacoma with a lot of rust underneath

    I would be curious as to how long the rust was ignored.

    surface rust would not deter me...
    because that could just be needing some tlc/clean up.

    but if the frame were rusted thru somehweres...
    I'd likely chose to pass.

    Take a ball-peen hammer to the frame...
    and check that everywhere for rust thru/scaling.

    If it's not rusted thru...
    and someone were willing/able to do their own clean-up...
    The rust could possibly be removed /or neutralized.

    If that effort or time spent seems too much... then don't buy it.
