My GF said the same thing when I told her I had my SnugTop Rebel on order. "It makes it look like an old man truck. My dad had one on his truck and I hated it"

She doesnt mind it now. I think it all depends on how you have your truck.

With the right mods, you can make anything look good.

My wife said the same 'you'll look like an old man' comment when I told her that I was ditching the BackRack and tonneau cover for a cap.

I reminded her that I was 61 just before I told her to 'ef off.

    She likes the cap.

I will admit some of the old canopies when I was a kid scream "Hey look at me I am a 60 year old man that enjoys hobby carpentry." But the new caps look so good on some trucks and fit so well. And the function is so convenient.

Do you need to know, or care?
I agree. I've had canopies in the past and thought this, but now see the advantage one could have with having one, it could make sense depending on need. Me for one prefer tonneau cover, but it's all about asthetics and what one prefers for what they require. To each their own.

Not a '16 but I have one on my '15. I can agree to a certain extent on the old man comments but I'm 20 so. And I don't think mine looks old mannish it's all in the way you build the truck.

I think the trucks look good both with a shell and without. After I put my Snugtop Rebel on my truck a couple months ago, my daughter said the same thing, "looks like an old man truck" haha. My response was " well I am an old guy, so there". But truth be told, the shells are easily removable when not needed I think it looks great. I'm also putting the front runner slimline racks up top.

None - yet... That's why I'm joining this fourm
I have some friends who use camper shells when they need them, hunting season being a perfect example. They throw it on this time of year and then when December ends they take them off and store them in their garage.

That could be a solution to put it on when you go on trips and leave it off when you're not. It may even let you get a cheaper model since you would not be seen wearing it all the time... Unless you like the old man look. Haha jk, the quicksand campers look slick IMO.

I think a house more space than the bed of truck for said activities.

    Which rack system is that.
I just bought a used cap and I'm trying to figure rack systems out.
    Looks great.
