Have you checked if the bulb is single filament? I'm not sure of it works like this on out trucks but on older cars to bypass my dtrl that were my turn signal/dtrl I used single rather than dual filament.

Well then I won't complain about getting around 320 miles out of a tank with slightly larger tires, a shell, stuff in the back, rear steel bumper, sliders and a winch mount and winch in the front with a moderate lift in the front and the back.

I can see that thing getting caught on everything when you're wheeling it, especially if you can't get at the obstacle at an angle.

Fuelly. Great little free app that lets you track gas mileage, maintenance and pretty much everything else. You can also set reminders for stuff like checking the cabin air filter and other stuff I tend to space off.

    I used this pin switch:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009SXOVA

    I used these diodes:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NQ36SCM

I used this wire (you can use any 16 gauge wire that you want but this is what I have. I'm always doing electrical stuff so I buy the big rolls):
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GB0D4Q

Take a look at the install manual for the bed lights:
    https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0...8_TA_TOYOTA_MCDONOUGH.pdf?6492033332345436988

The way I wired mine, the dome light will activate the bed lights, the pin switch will activate the bed lights but the pin switch will not activate the dome lights inside. Here is a pic of the way I did it:
