Fire extinguisher. Built a mount for it to keep it secure in the cubbie.

Not worth the weight, space, and potential fluid leaks on other gear unless I know I will be cutting trees down.

The ax handles the occassional tree without issue.

Very nicely done op! You echoed many of the preparations I've carried for years (with more layers of redundancy), except I live in the desert so my concerns are less for hypothermia prevention, and more for dehydration prevention- aka more water than you could ever possibly need and in a container that you can carry if you need to hike out. Also I keep some candy (skittles) in my pack. A sugar boost can be a life saver if you've got a long and unexpected hike back to civilization.

I always grab one of those gallon waters at the store plus a 6 pack of the big smart waters....and just recently upgraded to the Coleman 5 gallon container that I throw in the back for water. Have a "apocalypse" backpack I always bring along with a little bit of everything in it from; a 3 day supply of food, water, trauma kit, rope/cord,hunting rifle w/ ammo(AR-7), a couple knives, fishing kit, collapsible shovel, a couple zippos, zippo fire starter kit, box of matches (all fire related stuff in a sealed bag),spare undies and socks, blanket...that's just off the top of my head, I'd have to go through it to remember it all lol. Everytime I find something else I think I'm missing I get it and throw it in. Really need to pull it all out and take inventory of it all.

Na, it was just such a well written and thought- out piece I figured you were either commissioned or a senior NCO.

But that's enough ass kissing from me, I've reached my quota for the day.

What I have shown is several thousand dollars, not including anything that is part of the truck.

You could spend $1,000 and be decently equipped.

The electronics get expensive, but they are worth it. The inreach is $300 for the device and $10 a month for the basic service.

If you PM me a budget, I can help you out on prioritizing purchases.

@Mxpatriot Can you link a good GPS for emergency? I want something I can bring along in case I do solo wheel and get stuck for good with no signal, and need to text a buddy for a rescue.

The Delorme inReach SE is my device of choice. It runs around $340 for the device.

At $10 a month you get ten text messages per month and SOP coverage. It also functions as a GPS for basic navigation. They sell a model with all the communication / SOS features, but without GPS navigation, for about $75 less.

Delorme works off the Iridium satellite network, which is considered to have the best coverage and reliability.

Catch any fish there? In July I was pulling 18" Arctic Char out of the deep area at the far right end of the lake from your truck.
