OME 3" Lift with JBA UCA's
Hello fellow Toyota owners! I have owned 3 Toyota Tacomas in my lifetime. I recently bought a 2011 Tacoma and wanted to lift it 3".
I have been reading the threads on here as a guest. I finally decided on the OME lift kit with the replacement rear leaf springs.
The complete lit arrived last week. I then decided to buy new upper control arms prior to installing the kit. I narrowed my choice down to the Total Chaos uniball arms and the JBA ball joint UCA's. After reading all the threads on here, I went with the JBA's. It seems he finally got them right.
They arrived yesterday. I removed one from the box and shiny metal shavings covered my sofa cushion. I looked in the box and the packing material was also full of metal shavings. Ball joints and metal shavings? Needless to say, I'm disappointed...... Contemplating returning them for a refund, and buying the Total Chaos arms....

Talked with Marlin about the metal shavings in the UCA shipping box. It was determined they came from drilling and tapping the bolt hole that attaches the brake line bracket to the upper control arm. Since this is the last step in the building process, some shavings fall into the tube. The box was flipped during shipment and scattered shavings inside the box. I blew the bushings and ball joints out with compressed air and installed them. He offered to send me another pair, but I didn't want him to eat the freight costs. Marlin is a stand up guy! Maybe a plastic plug in the bolt hole would keep the shavings inside the tube and prevent this from happening in the future. Love my new lift..........
