Leaning towards a standard rear bumper vs high clearance and thought it might be a good idea to see the pro's and cons of each.

I think my biggest qualm with high clearance is that it requires cutting. Also standard seems to look a whole hell of a lot better imo as well, but am curious if those running standard ever hit rock between the bumper and fender where high clearance covers?

Been looking at Fourfabs Premium standard for the price, but I saw a couple threads stating that some had some serious issues with them in the past. Anyone able to chime in on this as well?

I wouldn't do a high-clearance specifically because of the reason you mentioned: cutting. I've read about many people regretting cutting their trucks in the long run. Cracks and all sorts of problems develop.

I don't like that the Fab Fours' bumper has the hitch receiver underneath it. Look for a bumper that has that receiver tucked away behind the license plate (which will be on a hinge), as that will give you much more clearance.

I'll also be getting a normal-clearance bumper sometime in the next year.

Just to clarify... the hitch with the Fab4 bumper is the hitch that comes with the truck. There is no hitch "on" the bumper. The hitch is separate from the bumper and is in the position its in from the factory. The hitch is attached to the frame in a different location than the fab4 bumper.

I have one.. it sits higher up than the stock bumper by I'd say 3" or so. So as far as clearance goes, the hitch is going to be the lowest point, there's nothing you can change about that so IMHO, not worth getting the high clearance then have to cut fenders and so forth.
I've seen the low clearance bumpers installed on a few trucks and didn't see any issues.

The lowest point in the back is the hitch and the spare tire, aft of the rear diff of course.
