Lots of good advice on here bud. If you don't want to go lt or cant afford it, I recommend Bajakits UCA and kings. I'm running the same kit, I called them directly and had great customer service. Parts showed up withen a few days to my doorstep. Also doesn't break the pocket as much as what @perpetualenigma3 has into his truck(jealous). Cant wait to see the build!

Exactly what I was thinking when I read this ^

    Gotta pay to play!

But why put the pressure on yourself to find a LT kit you may not even be able to afford? That's my question...

Why not just wait, save your money and then do it right the first time the way you want it?

Just giving the OP some info on Sponsorship as we get a lot of requests daily.

Sponsorship is all about what the sponsored party can do for the sponsor, we (Team Brenthel) always strive to do more than what our sponsors pay us for because that's just who we are and how we do business. For Baja Kits I value getting our products in front of as many relevant eyes as possible thru working with larger companies with good exposure also shows, races, contingency, magazine shoots, videos, commercials bill boards, meet ups, trail rides, social media and forums.

Have we done 100% sponsorships, of course but we also work with the customer and determine what works best and how it benefits both parties.

The OP did reach out to me and I gave him, I believe, a good price on our set up!

    Keep me updated OP.

    Thanks

    JT

No I didn't have to remove any steering stops, but I would highly recommend that you measure your tires well. I ran into issues while running pitbulls since the did measure 35" the little extra size on the tread pattern would cause rubbing even with a cab mount chop. You will need to chop you cab mount and a little off the inner fender support or you might run into some rubbing issues. Also dont forget to detach your abs cable from the fire wall or at full articulation it'll rip the abs cable.

Thanks for the tips. My kit is on its way to me right now and i will be struggling through the instal my self. Ive already chopped the cab mount way back, welded in new plates and cut back the pinch weld and inner fender well quite a bit. il be running Fiberglass Flares as well. my tires will be slightly smaller than yours for a while but hopefully il get 35s next year. So your steering radius is still decent? no binding with the LCA?

No none at all, my only issues where the cab mount and that's it. Well, the rear bed sides, but that was because they were factory.

sweet thanks man! Il be running stock bed sides too but i think im gana trim a few inches off of them, color match the flares and call it good for now. i dont really want glass bed sides i think i would damage them loading dirt bikes and what not.

I would buy some high quality stainless steel extended brake lines and some limit straps with adjustable clevis attachments. Those two items will improve the accessories of the kit a lot. Also check for clearance at full lock - this happened on one of my LCA's where the steering knuckle clearanced itself into it. This was above the location of the old steering stop that had been removed so that had nothing to do with it.

So you removed your steering stop and it still bound up there? Did you do somthing like this? Thanks for suggesting the steel brake lines and limit straps il look into that. Also sorry to jack this thread Op

You only need to remove the steering stop on the left of the picture you posted. Nothing else on that part - you can see it in my picture here. The interference came from the back of the spindle hitting the LCA:

The kit comes with extended brake lines, but they have a compression fitting at each end rather than just one and won't be able to mount up to your stock brake line brackets with the standard style brake line clips. Mine are zip tied to the brackets until I figure out if I'm going to keep my truck or sell it and take the kit off. If I were to keep it I'd buy some better brake lines for sure. They are also about 2" too long imo and are capable of getting damaged with all of the slack that they have at normal ride height and still at full droop.

They also give you limit straps, but they are not adjustable and you are limited in how you can mount them and won't be easy to accommodate for stretch over time. They give you 12" limit straps so if you can find a strap / clevis combo that gives you 11-13 inches of range you should be good to go.

Oh and I don't think the OP will care since he hasn't been on since October and hasn't made any posts since he made this thread lol.

Thanks for all the good information. That's going to be extreamly helpful. I really appreciate it. Il start shopping around for break lines and limit straps and will definitely be trimming the steering bumps down aswell. Why sell your truck?!

Because prerunner lol - I don't want to put a lot of money into it and then regret not having 4wd. I do a lot of solo trips so and I found some stuff I was lucky to have to be going down and not up last time - that trip kind of helped me make up my mind.

Upon further investigation I found that the parts that will most likely hit first are your brake calipers and the secondary shock mounts on the LCA's. Not sure if there's any way around that on any LT truck.

Kartek has some good stuff at least for limit straps:
