Originally had my heart set on quicksand but the wife hated the color. Tried pretty hard to convince her but ultimately settled on my second choice super white. I'm still pretty happy with the white though.

I can't put in both white and inferno. It asked what do you have not what you like the best. I like each for different reasons. The inferno for the bling and the white for the looking good longer between baths.

I've choose between super white and inferno and decided to pull the trigger on the Inferno without having seen it in real. I'm pretty happy with my choice and it's the only color that came with the black/orange interior in canada, i were uncertain at the begining, but now i really love this combo.

Most popular among owners enthusiastic enough to be on an enthusiast's website, that is.

I never specify that it was the most popular across the world either. We all know that we are a little pourcentage of all tacoma owner around the globe. This poll is just for fun, i'm not doing
    a PhD research.

I decided with the Barcelona Red. Was not my first choice as I was leaning towards the white. My other 2 Tacoma's were Silver Streak and Silver Sky Mica. I did not like the Barcelona Red on the 2nd gen's, but when I saw this color on the 3rd gen, WOW! Looks great in person especially in the OR trim. The black fender flares and front bumper trim along with the wheels look amazing with Barcelona red. Now to work on getting the Sport hood.IMG_4616[2].jpg

So far black is the one of least popular colors. I find this hard to believe. I would think it would be one of the three most popular because it is offered on all trim levels except pro.

Obviously everyone has their own opinion and a reason why they choose that particular color. I really wanted the "Cement" and was very very disappointed when I found out it was only available in the TRD Pro model. So much so that I wrote a letter to Yoshihisa Nagatani, President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas, Inc.

Was I expecting to hear back from him, heck no, I figured they would assign an underling/junior manager that task. I did give them my address/email/home phone number. Well much to my surprise I received a phone call the following week. Yep, not from the Prez, but from the General Manager of Quaility Control.

Well we all know how the rest of the story goes...... I had mentioned that IMO it was foolish to have a color locked into one model only. Especially when that model comes in 3 colors, and 2 of those can be had by any model. It would make sense if all 3 colors were solely dedicated to the Pro model.

So as expected I was told "Sorry nothing we can do" those decisions are made by Toyota marketing. But he said that color could possibly be available in the 2018 models.

Then just a couple days later, an even bigger surprise, I received an email from the Prez, "Yoshi" himself. Truth be told I was flattered and impressed that he actually took the time to respond, heck I really didn't even think my letter would ever even reach his desk.

But unfortunately it was the same news, he apologized and said he hopes I would still keep toyota in mind. He also reiterated that the Cement color could very well be available for the 18s.

I emailed him back and sadly informed him that the Cement color was a deal breaker for me. No Cement, No new Tacoma.

Then I said informed him that while looking at the 17s, at several dealerships, my husband, and wouldn't you know it......He Caught that Darn Tacoma Bug. LOL

We now have a 2017 TRD Sport model, Super White, Access Cab on order! Yoshi emailed us back congratulating us on our purchase.

Then my genius husband decided to email Yoshi back, and said something to the effect; "if you happen to be near the paint booth when my truck is about to go thru and somehow the "Cement" code is entered and our Super White comes out Cement......Oops, well it will obviously cost too much to repaint it Super White, so it could just slip thru....... I won't tell anyone. Hahaha".

I know wishful thinking, I told him.

You don't make it to the top of Toyota by having a sense of humor and clowning around, my husband quickly found that out. Yoshi is one serious dude!

He quickly emailed my husband back and said more or less: Not gonna happen. Toyota prides itself on quality control and something like that will not slip or Oops thru Toyota. Enjoy your Super White!

My husband was sorta speechless, he's like "heck, I was only kidding, hope I didn't insult him".

So Super White it is for us! Now the 4-6 week wait......and wait......and wait......

When I was looking around our Toyota dealerships and a few other ones in the area when I was looking for my Tacoma, black were the main colors most had on the lot, that they couldn't sell. Sure it's a common color but they are entirely too hard to keep looking good especially on a truck. Let alone an off-road one. So I can totally see black being one of the least favorite colors
