Get a bilstein 5100 lift and you won't be having any problems fitting those on

3" lift, either different wheels OR wheel spacers, and a:sawzall:bit of trimming fender wells, fender flairs, flattening a pinch weld, and body mount chop, and you can fit 285/75's.

    Or you can rub

Buy 265/75/16's and save your money. They are usually less expensive than either 265/70's or 285/75's. In order to go with the 285's you not only have to modify the suspension, but you'll be a lot happier re-gearing. There will be a slight loss of power going to 265/75's, but it's not too bad. That is a lot of money and trouble to gain 1/4-1/2" of ground clearance over 265/75's.

If I'm spending money modifying the vehicle for bigger tires, I'm buying BIGGER tires.
