2017 QS TRD Plastidippped Chrome

Had my 2017 Tacoma for a little over a week now and was getting tired of the chrome grill. Decided to plastidip it, and while I was at it also did the chrome bumber end caps, and all the emblems.

Think it turned out well with the quicksand color and wanted to throw up some pictures.

Did 9 coats on the grill and 8 on everything else... 3 cans of plastidip total.

I'm guessing you did the "TACOMA" on the doors as well.

I plan on doing my badges, I like'm black way better. I also ordered the matter black vinyl TACOMA letters for the tailgate.

When you took the grille out, two Philipscrews and two plastic clips, where there any clips along the bottom holding it in place?

Only ask because I watched a couple different vids and one only removed the four on top and the other vid the guy reached down and it looked like he was unclipping something on the bottom of the grille before yanking it out.

I did spray the "Tacoma" emblem on the sides aswell

For removing the grill all mine had was the two phillips screws on top and the two plastic clips. no other clips or anything else on the bottom; just popped right out.

After you get the grill off, you have to disassemble it into three pieces: the part that is body color, the chrome outer ring, and the center part of the grill.

For the outer ring there are 8 phillips head screws on the back, and a bunch of hinged style clips to get off.... After you get the outer ring pulled off there are some more slightly different looking clips that just pop out and the center part out will come off and it will be ready to be sprayed.

Thanks, that's funny, I already watched that one. Another one had the guy reaching down and it appeared like he was unclipping something. Anyway, I'll be swapping mine out. I ordered the TRD Pro Grille.

Looks like I'll have a 17 Sport Grille & Bezel to sell. LOL

I plan on Plasti-Dipping immediately, as soon as my Truck arrives! Badges, Fender Flares, and the Front Valance (plastic piece where the license plate mounts)

Wish the Sport came like yours w/black fender flares & Front Valance. But I guess Toyota wants them to each have a distinctive look.

That's why I'm naming mine: "MUTANT TACO"

It will look like a Sport, Off Road, and the TRD Pro!

Great job, the Black Bumber gives it a Meaner more Badass look!
