    **** UPDATE ********
The shop foreman and service manager pulled all plugs in front of me. He doesn't know how his tech did it either without messing up the cover. He was super nice, the shop foreman has been there 20+ years. I said I didn't want to be a complaining customer. He laughed & said I wasn't it was OK. He was stumped too. Maybe his gloves didn't make any mark. The shop foreman used his hands. Crisis averted!!

Ok this is a follow up to my mistake yesterday (buying the prepaid mnt plan & actually letting the dealer work on my truck)...

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/toyota-prepaid-maintenance-vent-the-sucker-plans.454431/

I checked the work today because I picked my truck up after dark.
I don't see any dirt disturbance? Would I? Sorry if this is a stupid question.
Service manager said to take my truck in today after work.
It does look like there are finger marks around my air intake (air filter) nothing else shows any marks. :notsure:
My truck engine area is dirty which should show prints?
My RO showed them billing Toyota for the plugs.
Any advice is appreciated. I do not usually whine here (10 year member) but am upset.
Also I do not want to unjustly accuse. :help:

I said hell no, there has to be some type of showing that at least those screws were removed.

Pop one out and check... not very difficult or time consuming! Never trust anyone, but yourself when doing mainenance on your vehicle... I do all my routine mainenance for this reason and past experiences!

I'd take one out and check but from the looks of it you got screwed.

Unless they took your truck off road after they did the oil change.

    I'd say no.
    As mentioned above check yourself.

Or take it back to the dealer and have them show you that they changed them

Nope, engine cover was not removed. I would go back and talk to the service manager. Show them under the hood. If they still say it was done, I would ask to be refunded the money for the maintenance plan...as they cannot be trusted to do the work they said they did. Alternatively, request that they prove that the plugs were changed, i.e. pull the plugs and see what they look like or check the brand of the plugs. Some years used two types/brands of plugs. If there are still two different brands in there, then they didn't do shit. (I don't know much about a 2015, I have a 2005 and there was two different brands of plugs).
    Good luck.

Hell it doesn't even look like they changed your air filter.

Better have a look at the engine oil while you're at it.

Jeez... you'd think they'd at least wipe some of the dirt to make it half way look like they did something. I guess it's true what they say... professional thiefs very rarely leave fingerprints.

Goddamn stealerships. I have several stories of my own but this takes the cake. I want to say that maybe they confused your truck's work order with someone else's but I doubt it. Let us know how it goes when you talk to them.

I vote no. How much did they charge you anyways for this? They should comp it if you go back.

Seems like the dealership took advantage of a woman, thinking they could typically get away with it.

I would suggest the same thing - almost.

Definitely get managers involved - service manager, general manager, whoever. Bring a witness, have the witness video record. Make sure every manager is there before they even touch the truck. Have them verify if the work is indeed completed.

No need for threats. Ultimately, your priority is to get your car taken care of.

However, if you come to find out that the work was never done, use this as leverage. Some people here can teach you how to do that. At this point, I wouldn't have them do the work because I don't trust them anymore.

No way they could have removed the engine cover without scraping off some of that dirt. I would most certainly take it back and ask them to show you that the plugs were changed. Stand there and watch the entire time so they cant pull a fast one on you.

Good luck. Let us know how it plays out.
