I'm about to take my truck in for its 5K / 6 Month Service. I'm wondering how many of you Taco owners have the dealer sign off on the maintenance log we receive with our new trucks. I haven't done this with prior vehicles, but I'm thinking it might be a good idea this time around.

    Thoughts?

Everything is computerized. If you have signed up at Toyota Owners, everything that is done with the truck is documented along with every visit. You can access the info from your phone.

I laid mine out on the seat for the tech to check off the things he done. Got back in and looked at the log and nothing was checked off. Service manager said it is all done on the computer. Gary is right I'll 2nd the above post!

The dealer should give you a printout of your vehicle service history. Just ask nicely. I bought mine used with 16K miles on it and the dealer provided this upon request when I went in for some warranty work.

+1 for the toyotaowners app. As soon as the dealer logs it in their system, you can see it on your phone.

If I let the dealer perform maintenance then I let them fill in that book and when I do the maintenance myself I also fill out that book checking off what I did and putting the mileage and date.

I had them fill it out and stamp it, plus keep service records.
