Been lurking for awhile gathering info and finally getting ready to pull my 370k mile 5vz auto to install the 2uz auto very soon. shout out to COMAtized for help and inspiration!

This my daily so I've collected all the parts and rebuilt the engine and hopefully can get the swap done in a couple weeks. The truck is a 2000 Prerunner engine is out of a 2000 Tundra.

Out of all the trucks I've owned this is the best...

I would recommend using a v8 4runner intake. Looks stock and fits on the inner fender well nice.

    Time for a update...Got side tracked building a spec e30 race car.IMG_20170211_154310363.jpg
Bought a 4runner with a popped hg to swap in my 5uz-fe for temporary transportation while the Tacoma has surgery. IMG_20170104_150943289.jpg
Pulled the Tacoma engine and installed it in the 4runner 2 weekends ago. IMG_20170225_185453408.jpg

V8 went in last Thursday IMG_20170305_195452305.jpg and got most plumbing done over the weekend. Fired her over last night. Driveshaft is almost ready, got to finish transmission mounts and a finish landing a few wires . Test drive this weekend hopefully.

Hey Comatized! I'm in Monroe, just east of Charlotte. Thanks for your help!

Honestly, the wiring was the hardest part for me. When I first started looking at the diagrams it was like trying to read Chinese. But finally figured it out.

Yep, when you first start comparing the wiring it is easy to get overwhelmed. I just keep reminding myself to work one plug and one wire at a time.

My 1st time around I made changes to the engine and dash Harness. This go around I changed my dash Harness back to stock and added an inline plug inplace of the stock ecu dash plug. Now I have an adapter harness Incan remove and work on inside on my table.

So got the electric fans wired, transmission mounts and exhaust are done. I reused a lot of exhaust piping just to temporarily get it legal. Test drove it and oh my gosh it pulls great! Very quiet until you romp on it.
Got a couple small leaks to address, relocate fuel filter, protect fuel lines and vsv wiring.

How are you controlling your fans, toggle switch?

Wired into a 15 amp circuit that turns on power when the truck starts.

Do you have cruise hooked up?

Yes, cruise works. You need a two wire cruise stalk from an 01+ Tacoma. Our older Toyotas use a 3 wire set up.

So you run your fan all the time? I want to come up with a way make it come on when it needs to, and off when it doesn't.
