For both the Feix folks and the headlamp folks out there: I'm a headlamp guy but have been unimpressed of late by the plastic junk put out by Petzl, Black Diamond, and others. Enter my new favorite lamp - the Fenix HP12: 1 1865 cell (or two CR123) housed in an aluminum tube on the back to balance the aluminum housed lamp in the front. Simple, tough, and Fenix bright!

I have the hl55 in the truck for a headlamp... Behind the passenger side rear seat on one of the grocery bag hooks. I don't have a problem with the balance on it. Best used with a ballcap though.

And a fenix uc35 in the center console (can be recharged via usb, so it's fantastic for a car flashlight)

... And a streamlight stylus pro in the first aid kit below the drivers side rear seat.

Little tree air fresheners. Clazzio black leather seat covers.
Streamlight Stinger with the flashlight and extra piggyback battery charger hardwired so it only charges while the truck is running.

If I had the need for a headlamp the HP12 would definitely be my choice.

I have a little maglite in my middle console, which is neatly organized using this little thing from Amazon linked below.

Then I have a bigger flashlight I got from Lowes (decent but not great) that is sitting behind my back seats on the driver side. All my straps and a few other essentials and emergency things are back there. The metal latch that clips into the seat holds my flashlight perfect. It isn't mounted, and just rests on it and never moves or falls. I did add a rubberband though. I'll grab a photo in a minute.

Here's a picture of my light behind rear seat. Sits up on latch and never moves.

Again it's not the best. It is a nice Husky light that's stainless steel, drop and water-resistant.. works for me.

Zebralight sc63. Cant believe how many people still actually use mag lights. Flashlight technology has come so far to still be using a mag light.

I agree I held on for awhile and wasted money on the led upgrades. They use old chip Tech and are barely brighter than the original bulb. Buying heavy bulky D and C cells that don't last long was the last straw. My Maglites are all in the dump now.

Seriously considering getting a Nitecore HC30 or the Armytek wizard pro.
Mainly to leave in the Tacoma, but I'll probably end up carrying it around.

Maglite led in the back. Just cant beat the classic. Except with the led model. Still like my big ass flashlight. Do was a magnetic tripod light though

Found this in Wal Mart for $17. Dual purpose illumination tool and attitude adjuster (if needed). 350 lumens and I bought a few to put in my other vehicle and camper. Also carry a surefire handheld in the glovebox as a backup.

Get both, ya can`t have too many, it`s good to have one to leave in the truck and one to carry around.

Some people just have not seen the difference in old technology and new, once they see the difference they won`t look back.

Protac HL USB. Bought it for my deployment October of last year, and now a year later its new home is in the center console next to a cheap headlamp.
