Pickup a load of fresh manure, let it set in your bed for a few weeks, then hose it out. Problem solved.

A piece of conveyor belt from the crusher at a quarry. Thick, heavy, free! Nothing hurts it. Been in one of my trucks for 25 years. There are always alternatives to buying OEM.image.jpg

To get back on topic ...

For those with a usable bed size (the 6'), Tractor Supply has a rubber horse stall mat that is 4' x 6' x 3/4" and it's really grippy. It requires trimming (straight edge and razor blade) to fit around the wheel wells. It's normally $40 but they put it on sale pretty often; it's $35 right now but I think that it goes a lot cheaper every now and again. For those with the 5' bed, it's just an extra cut. It's also pretty comfy to lay on (I replaced a panel on my tri-fold tonneau after I trimmed the mat this afternoon).

I purchased a 4' X 6' stall mat at my local tractor supply for $35. It's 3/4" thick and weighs 100 lbs., so no worries about blowing around. I just had to trim slightly for the wheel wells. I love how thick it is and it's made from recycled tires.

    None (yet)
I ordered the factory short bed mat from Amazon and they shipped me the long bed version. I really don't feel like boxing it back up and dealing with shipping it back (even if Amazon is willing to pay), so I'm thinking of just cutting it down. Sure, the front edge won't be "finished" like the one made for short beds, but I don't think that'll matter much. However, could someone with the short bed mat give me the exact length of it, front to back?

I bought the OEM as it was about $100 and precut to fit vs stall mat. I was impressed with how thick/durable it is and it is super tacky. If you don't want tacky or just want durability at a budget the 4x6 stall mats are easy to get and would be a great alternative - I put several down on my garage floor. If you want to take it out quickly to spray them off keep in mind they are in fact very heavy, I found them a pain/hassle to cut as well.

I loaded furniture in with the OEM, you can't slide anything across it but I put down a piece of cardboard and slid a couch right in no problem.

OEM as base and soft rubber mat on top for my knees .... but I have a hard bed cover that keeps everything dry.

TSC stall mat here as well. It was in my old truck for 15 yrs before this one. 100lbs of rubber won't slide or flip up.
