    Hello,
I just got my Toyota (2010 Tacoma access cab, 2.7, 4X4) and found this site. From what I've seen, it looks like a great group of knowledgeable folks -- glad I found it. I've never had a "yodder" before -- put 370K on my old Silverado from 2000 til just a few weeks ago. The ol' girl was starting to retire herself a piece at a time so I got the Tacoma. I've heard good things about the Tacoma's reliability and that is what I need. Sixteen years of solid service from my Chevy (original drive train -- just replaced 1 fuel pump and normal maintenance of oil changes, brake pads and tires) is a high mark to top, so I hope I chose wisely. Lookin forward to snoopin around here and learning from the pros.

    Thanks!
    Jim

Great pick for durability. Both in year model and engine/trans

That's very good. You really shouldn't have trouble matching or exceeding that. Although most folks never actually keep a vehicle long enough to hit that.

I think so, especially if the vehicle is the size and power you need to accomplish what you want to do.

How many miles on it now?

Do you have a detailed maintenance history? If not, I'd start by doing a lot of basic work/inspections and creating your own maintenance baseline to work from.

    Welcome.

Thanks All. Will try to post some pics soon. I haven't done anything to mod the truck yet, other than work on the glare coming off the hood "dimple". Driving into the sun was pretty rough and looking for others with same issue is what led me here. I got some "trim paint" (satin black), taped off the dimple and painted it. Actually pretty happy with the result -- very little glare at all now! Other mods were done by previous owner(s). Got a slight lift and oversized tires (which will be departing soon - terrible gas mileage).

I was able to find some history (really just servicing stuff -- nothing major) online, but lessons learned from my previous vehicles, I will start my own records on it. I got it with just over 87K and have already put 1400 on it. I have a Haynes for it and see there are some recommended 90K checks to do. Any other pointers to add to the "scheduled" stuff? Its a daily driver but also my "toy" I've wanted for many years, so I will do some light-weight trail stuff, but nothin major.

Thanks, again, for the welcome and the info!
