I recently purchased a 2016 White Tacoma TRD Sport and want to buy new A/T or modest M/T tires for the truck. Any ideas on what brand and largest size tires to buy and keep the stock rims with no modifications (mud flaps)? I drive on road (snow, rain, etc.) and occasionally take the truck off road hunting while hunting.

I may put a small lift(2"-?) on the truck as well. Any ideas on what lift (brand and type) to buy while being on a budget with the new tires? Will the lift void the rest of warranty?

I am new to the site and have never modified a truck. Post pics of your Tacoma with TRD Sport tires /rims for a visual for me.

    Same as everybody else...
You'll get a bazillion answers to this question, everybody has an opinion specially about "best tires".I use my truck like yours, I drive in snow, muddy farm roads and gravel roads, but mostly on the pavement. I've had Firestone Destination AT's for about a year and I'm really satisfied with them. Plenty of bite, not a lot of noise on the highway and I like the look. I'd recommend doing a search on TW and you'll see a s ton of posts on both of your questions.

Welcome to TW, and as above said, spend some time searching and reading about other lifts. Pay attention to those that are not happy the lifted. It sounds as it does change the ride and has caused some issues. From my understanding, doing a lift will not void the warranty, but does make things open for discussion if something goes wrong.

My plan will be to focus on tires once the stock ones wear down, as I'm too cheap to waste good rubber.

Forget the lift. Depending on the wheel diameter buy 265/75/16's or 265/70/17's. Both are the same overall size, they just fit either 16 or 17" wheels. That size is as big as you can go without expensive modifications. Any bigger and you'll have to lift and will be happier if you re-gear. Those are a 31.5-32" tires. Going to a 33" tire will only give you 1/2"-3/4" more ground clearance and isn't worth the negatives to me. If I'm spending money to modify the truck for bigger tires I'm going up to a 35" tire.

ANY decent AT tire will take you 95% of the places a true mud tire will take you. And those places are the ones you have to seek out just to prove you can get through them. AT's will ride better, quieter, get better fuel mileage, cost less, and last longer. I think going to an LT tire on a Tacoma is a waste of money, a P rated tire is plenty on these light trucks. I've had Cooper A/T3's on mine for 47,000 miles. They've done everything I needed. But I'm looking hard at the Firestone's in a few months. While the Coopers have been good, I think the Firestone's will probably give me a little better ride. But there are lots of options for similar tires, pick the one that you think looks best and you get the best price on locally.

I bought the Falken wilpeak at3's 265s, couldnt pass up the price on em, they are 'snowflake rated', and are a sweet looking aggressive AT.

Lots of happy Duratrac owners too. I run 255/75/17s on mine with no rubbing whatsoever.
