I have seen a lot of folks make platforms for their camping setup so I thought I would share what I made over the weekend.

    Pretty standard cross platforms:

I took 3: 4'x2' pieces of plywood and took an old mattress memory foam topper and cut them down to the size of the boards (sorry no pics of that). We upgraded to a king so the old pad was done.

I bought some duck canvas a while back with aspirations of making a soft topper tent but it didn't happen. I used these to cover the foam and stapled them to the plywood.

A couple of jack stands I had laying around helped with the base.

I made these in these layers so I can easily store them and put things below it. It's super comfortable, I put the 3rd board at the top of the bed and used it as a back rest and my wife and 13 month old and I went to a drive in movie yesterday.

Total cost of the boards was around $50, the rest of the materials were in the garage or headed to the curb.

I'd like to get a soft topper or shell and make this ready to camp!

Thanks! We have used this several times for drive in movies and camping. It's super comfortable.
