Hi all, just purchased a 2016 Tacoma dcor and very unhappy with my purchase.Traded in a 2014 Tundra for this and I think I made a mistake. In the shop now twice and only 1,200 miles on it.Leaking oil at the cam shaft sensor which was replaced last week.Well see what the new diagnosis is now.Wish I can hand them the keys back that's the point I'm at now. This is my fifth one over the years and the only one that has had any issues.

One more repair attempt and you pretty much can hand the keys back in most states. Look into your state's lemon law. I can't tell where you are, but usually it's 3 documented repair attempts within the first year for the same issue (oil leak at same area counts? Not sure) and you notify the manufacturer, give them one final attempt to fix it.

But alas, I hope they get it squared away for you and you're trouble free from hear on out.

Perhaps. I'll tell you one thing problems are voice a lot more than they were years ago. And the manufactures know this. Social media wasn't huge several years ago where people would complain about issues or things like the do now a days. Years ago when I bought my Celica I ended up joining a forum. A lot less member than what you have here. Mainly it was people just interested in mods. Now you have people coming in and doing research before they buy. A lot of this is because of the price of a new vehicle. Some people payments are nearly as much as there mortgage. Infact my mortgage (minus taxes) and truck payment are about the same. I think my truck payment is a little bit higher. And I even did a balloon buy. People have more and more to complain about. When Ford came in when out store won our presidents award they talked about this very topic. You hear more and more complaints and quality in most manufactures has gone up year over year.

Hey bass , I'm going through the same thing as we speak, oil coming from the passenger side valve cover , the dealer just called me and assured me it would be fixed properly with out any further issues , let's keep our fingers crossed , I'm definitely going to ask for a extended warranty !!!! Just in case it fails after 60 k , I just hope this isn't going to be a on going problem this is a bad ass truck and toyota Is well known for their quality , I'll keep you posted on my issues once I get it back

Been dealing with my transmission issues for three months, only owned it for five months very disappointed, trans flares and shudders. If it didn't hurt I would get someone to kick me in my ass for getting rid of a perfect 2010 Tacoma.

Either you guys have really cheap mortgages down their or you put nothing down on the truck.

Average mortgage here is about $1500 sometimes more, I know people paying $2300 a month but they were idiots and bought way outside of their price range.
I wouldn't pay any more than $500 a month for financing on a new vehicle. If I can't get it that low over 5 years max then I'm saving more before I buy it.

But otherwise, hit the nail right on the head.
Sure you're going to hear more complaints now days. Pretty much everyone that has a car likely has internet in the palm of their hand everywhere they go. Its so much easier to get online now, and lets be realistic here, do most people go out of their way to say if something is good? No they only talk about their purchases if its to complain.

I wouldn't say take every complaint as a grain of salt, since they do help to show you what type of problems do exist on the vehicle. But don't take them as if they exist on EVERY truck coming out of the factory.

Sucks. I had low tranny fluid and recently got the new TSB but no issues besides that so I'm not complaining. I hope they get your issues figured out.

There is a thread on this here. Took a couple attempts and the dealer kept going deeper into it since apparently there can be a leak from multiple spots in the same location and they can't tell, so they try to do the cheap easy fix first then get into it more. You'll likely be fixed up this time unless they just do the same thing they did last time. Wish you luck. I'm under 2k and haven't had this issue yet, although mine isn't perfect yet either

Hey guys , after owning a Ford and a Dodge way way long time ago , I have to say this , yes toyota is a more of a expensive purchase , but we all know toyota is a quality product and they do stand behind their product , I take so much shit from family members that work for the big 3 for buying a tacoma, but my 2010 was bullet proof and I along with you can kick myself in the ass for trading it in. Everyone that bitches about my wife and I driving a "Jap truck " but there trucks are always in the shop getting motors and transmissions and major repairs , hopefully toyota overcomes this little glitches and gets back on the ball. Otherwise I'm happy with the performance and quality of my rig. Hopefully everything works out for all of us !!!

Cheap mortgage. Houses aren't a lot around here for the most part. Paid 76k for mine. Didn't put anything down on my truck either

Shit you pay 2500 a month for rent in a 1 bedroom apartment here in So Cal. It is ridiculous I cant wait to move back to Utah where you can get a nice home for less than 2K a month.

Easy, you convert your 1-bedroom apartment into a 4-bedroom apt with (4) couches and then you bring in some roommates.

Michigan is hit and miss , I have a 3 bedroom ranch style brick and the houses went from 130k years ago to 60k after the housing market crashed , I had a trade in and threw the trade in on the truck so it's under 400 bucks a month

For those of you in Texas, the lemon law recently changed, and not for the better.

Varies greatly from state to state. In NC it requires a written complaint to the dealer, 4 attempts for the same problem (and the 4th attempt fails) OR the car being out of service for 20 or more business days within a year regardless of how many attempts have been made. 4 attempts or 30 days is the most common, followed by 3 attempts or 30 days. One state I believe allows 5 attempts and another allows 40 days out of service.

    holy fuck I wish.
With the new laws rules they just passed if I remember right its if the house is over $500k you need to put 25% down payment.
Might sound ridiculous but homes here sell for minimum 780k. Cant buy a detached home in the city for under 1mil. I'm in the suburbs, neighbor just sold their house (identical to mine) 1900sq ft semi-attached sold over asking. Was asking 640k for it sold for 700k.
His was old and dated too. Nothing has been renovated since the 80s. I'm about a half hour drive from the downtown core. Even something an hours drive out of the city like my sisters place, 1500 sq ft town house selling for 450k.

Interest rates are low at 1-2% but still if they increase many will not be able to afford their homes. I know one co worker just bought a place for 780k put 40k down that he got from a loan shark. Total fuckin idiot because in 6 months he'll be in trade school on unemployment making 1200 a month. His girlfriend only works minimum wage part time so she doesn't bring home much. No clue how he even got approved. This city is out of control. The banks will approve anyone and many are getting themselves into some shitty situations.
