That's nothing. A guy in the towing section tows 10k on his 2nd gen 2.7L with "no problem".

Haha, no. 10k. He even had pics and runs a landscape company. He got angry when I said what he's doing is idiotic. I forget which thread but I bet I can find it.

Just slightly over the rated capacity. No problem. Should I mention here I have property for sale in Florida?

Ah... a landscape biz. Prolly drives 10- 20 miles a day. Still,he's pulling the guts out of that truck. Mine is a 2.7 and it does a 2500lb popup trailer all over the west np. Manual tranny.

@Sbpark i don't think you have to turn off the lights. They will turn off after you lock the truck twice… unless I'm all fucked up, here. Thats what I've been doing with mine.

has never happened to me. I can't remember if it has a 20 sec delay or if it turns off right away, but if you press the lock button twice they should all die out...

Think I take back my F150 Extra Cab>Taco DCLB iwas going on about in another thread or two...just rather stick with a Tacoma and give up a little capacity/power. The Taco is more than enough, just too bad it doesn't come in MT. I like all the other power conviences, but don't want to give up my manny trans. Though I do say that auto was pretty darn nice, could hardly tell it was shifting, that is driving normally, and not racing it. Even putting the hammer down it was pretty slick.

I would probably end up getting some sag bags for when I do tow though. Not a big fan of the squat. And yeah, I wish there was a manual option in the DCLB. Toyota is missing out on a lot of sales by not offering that. I think that could lure back in a good amount of people who left Toyota for a full size because that configuration was not available.

I would have gladly ordered the Limited DC LB option if it was available...

I stopped at a weigh station and posted the actual weight from the scale in post #1.
Here it is again. The taco is around 4400 lbs therefore, the trailer weighed around 2600 lbs.

20161010_071152.jpg Just back from camping; able to track gas mileage with fill up management, total travel was over 500 miles, primarily 2 lane and lots of grades, US 101. 17.4 - 17.6 MPG.
