Such nice trucks, I can't believe Toyota got cheap on the tires though! I'd have some BFG ATs or red letter Grabbers on that thing stat.

    Congrats OP.

Hammered us here in St Augustine. Lots of damage from about Flagler Beach (parts of A1A are gone) up to Vilano/South Ponte Vedra. Numerous houses basically destroyed due to erosion and the foundations failing. Personally just had a couple of privacy fence panels damaged.

Oldcity, in St Aug too, have had my Tacoma for a week and had it locked up for the storm. Just got power back this morning! I hear Vilano didnt get it as bad as people thought it would.

Yea the fact it was moving up the coast vs direct hit made a huge difference. Mostly houses in Vilano that are on the beach are the ones that got the brunt of damage. I heard Cap's was damaged pretty bad.

    No Problem. I found a few threads here on TW, but this one on tundrageeks has a lot of detail;
    http://tundrageeks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10559

Here is the short version (I have a 2017, so here goes)
    1. format a usb memory stick to FAT32 on a windows pc (it didn't like my mac's fat 32 format)
    2. create two directories (case sensitive)
    /DisplayOffImage
    /StartupImage
    3. you're allowed 3 images in each directory (duplicates are ok), that have to be .JPG format
    4. in your dash, go to Settings, General and scroll down to startup / shutdown screen.
    5. with the usb stick plugged in click the 'Transfer' button and it will ask if you want to overwrite the 3 images in your truck (there is also a default 'Toyota' image but that always remains. I've never clicked Delete to find out if it goes, I always just overwrite).
    6. Once you've transferred, then just pick from one of the 3 new images for the startup / shutdown.

I resize my images down to around 800x500, but it puts a black border on the top / sides if it's not a perfect fit. Resize your image until you're happy.

I've never had it show the shutdown, but startup works every time after the 'Toyota / warning' screen.

(edit: Attached my current 3 images if anybody wanted them)

On the third gen does it actually call it shutdown, or is it screen off? There's a difference.

In the settings menu, at the bottom you can turn your screen off. It's handy for long, night drives where the brightness get's annoying. This is where the image would show.

This is how it was on the 2nd gens so it may be different for you.

I was guessing at the screen on/off naming as I was at my desk at work.

I'll double check the exact naming, but the way you explain the 'screen off' makes sense. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm putting the 'off' image in the wrong option :D Thx!

I double checked on the drive to work today, and you were right. There is the boot screen, then the screen off option (found that this morning!). It works as you described, thx
