Oh just found this tread, I love photography. I will share a rain shot of someone at a park I took a few years ago, just random people. Mostly shoot landscapes, sometimes portraits, pretty much never do weddings unless I can dictate everything, which usually means no weddings (fine by me, hate them).

Hey all. Its been a while since I posted in this thread and I have been missing out on the good conversation. Gonna post a couple photo's on here and I have been using Flickr to get a little more posting resolution instead of uploading my shots. I have been trying to participate when I can with the weekly photography challenge but I work 4 on 4 off as a trucker and it gets hard to dedicate any photography time.
Reminder that i use an Olympus OMD em5 mk2, lens is posted per shot
Sorry for the shot spam, like I said. Its been a while.

    1. Taken in the rain on a trail half hour before dark. Original was lacking color and contrast but did what I wanted. not lightroom editing but I should probably get that instead of using windows editer. lol (lens - 14-150mm)

    2. Again Raining but was looking for greyscale anyways. (lens - 14-150)

    6. Helmcken Falls, 4/5 sec exp. f/20 22mm ISO 200 Handheld (love the stabalization some days) (lens - 14-150)

I am working with the weather for the late area and with what I have available to me.
Considering right now the upgrade for the camera so I can get better action shots. This would also include a couple pro level lenses over the next year. One with the camera that will allow some pretty massive light in these shots.

And for anyone who is interested in the new Olympus that is coming out before Jan 1,2017 (guaranteed to be in stores by then)
Have a boo at the new beast that they put out.... something to peak your attention 20megapixel at 60FPS in RAW format and 121 cross focus points
    http://www.getolympus.com/us/en/e-m1-mark-ii.html

I cant decide between this and the Nikon D500 (just about double the price but different in every way as a camera)

I'd be interested in the Nikon D500 more so if I could afford it. Mainly for the lenses.

ideally, you want a quality portable mirrorless for easy-carry, AND a full blown quality DSLR for when you want to setup good pictures. My current instruments are a EOS 60D, and a EOS M. The M only has one EF-S lens, a 22mm f/2.0 pancake lens, although I have the EF adapter for it. For the 60D, I have a 18-200 f/3.5-5.6 IS kit zoom (ok but not great), a 20mm f/2.8 (not as sharp a lens as I'd hoped, but still a good fast wide prime), and a 85 f/1.8 prime (awesome fast razor sharp portrait/mild tele).

The last round of 'serious' field photography I did, a 4 day music festival when I was on the photo crew, I used the M+22/2 and the 60D w/ a rented 100/2.0 (very similar to the 85/1.8 that I bought the next week), and never unpacked my zoom.

Did you happen to see what they offer with the new omd em1 mk2?
I am not far off from saying the only upgrade I see is over 3k in a full frame camera.

three-fourths cameras are like 16mm, APS-C cameras are like 24mm, and full frame cams are 35mm.

there's no substitute for imager size once you get past all the trickery. my favorite camera was my old pentax 6x7, which was 70mm wide, film.

He's comparing the size of the sensor to film sizes. 16, 35, and 70 are all common film sizes.

Looked into this more and while the sensor is smaller there has been professionals that did actual real world tests with the camera and blown it to full outright proportions. so far it took a 40x60 print to show the difference between the two camera's
here is what the research found
    http://www.thewanderinglensman.com/2014/02/the-practical-difference-between-full.html
    http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/56119178
    http://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2012/06/a-weekend-with-the-panasonic-12-35-f2-8

I understand that a full frame camera will give me a larger picture and capture more and while its technically a better shot (if the camera captures it) it doesn't make sense to exclude a new camera with a new sensor because its Micro43.
plus I am not a professional, just shoot for fun and can use the speed and cross focus points for doing the fun sports stuff like mountain bike races etc.
