Haha I'll have to wait for mounted and painted pics for when @outdoorAZ is done with it.

But here is it bare metal!

Should be, just got to find the right placement of the tent to allow the bolts to fit through the expanded medal.

I don't see why it wouldn't be I don't see an RTT in my future but it would be pretty easy to do.

(Ignore all of the chalk dust on the rack. It was by the exhaust door of a rock climbing gym for a few hours)

Bed rack is on!! Thank you @Delta00 for building this for me!

I painted it yesterday with rustoleum paint and primer in gloss black(3 coats) and gloss clear (2 coats). There are a few little imperfections in the paint but its on a 16 year old truck with plenty of its own bumps and scratches.

OP needs to update first post :anonymous:

You don't have greaseable shackles do you? Tossing around the idea of getting Dakars (when I finally get a rear bumper I'll add the AAL) and OME greasable shackles instead of AP Expos. Mainly because I can get all that the same price as the Expos and they probably won't be on backorder when the time comes.

Yes I do, op is very out of date.... Haha

But yes, I do have the greasable shackles. Also, my dakars have never squeaked, extremely quiet. Very happy with them and they ride great with weight in the back.

My dakars haven't squeaked at all either. I've taken them through several mud holes and a couple (1ft max) water crossings and more than enough dust. No squeaks.

Nothing too fun. I don't have tools to do blinker relocation to corner lamps. :(

I was suprised that mine havent squeaked at all. There are dedicated Dakar squeak threads here for the 2nd gen guys. Seems odd that they are plagued by squeaks and 1st gens seem to be mostly silent.

That's one reason why I was gonna go AP that and I've heard the weight is handled better with Expos. But since I won't have a rear bumper for a while and AP can't keep them in stock plus Dakars are about $100 cheaper.
