Not limited to tacomas, people buy all kinds of things they don't need such as oversized homes, 500hp muscle cars, semi automatic weapons with 100 round magazines.

Plenty get by happily with a lot less.

You said "mountains" which is a clear indication of going off road, stating to climb them. So basically your saying I don't need a 4x4 in Florida?

Have only owned it for a little over a month, but so far, no issues with the nav.

You Do need it. My theory is if you ever need it just once, it is worth having. Like stuck in the sand on Daytona beach, or an 8" snow storm in NC. Ask me how I know.

Would have been happy with another SR5 if a manual had been available with 4x4, double cab. My house is at 9318'

I own a 2017 4x4 DCLB sr5 and decided to purchase the sr5 for different reasons. #1. Price difference! It was about a 6,000$ price difference at my dealerships. #2. I want to add my own suspension lift system in the future so why pay for it now? #3. I'm not a huge off-roader so this will hold me over but if I wanna go I know I can with the sr5 and don't need the OR or Sport package. Also I have black on black with a little red in my interior.

SR5, appearance package and tow package all need to carry my bike, In my opinion will be nice to have a an TRD OR 4x4 but I had to promise my wife to keep the payments low in order to get this truck and really , can't be happier with what I have for under $300 monthly payment.

I saved the $2500 difference from the SR5 and Off Road, and spent that money on a lift, wheels, and tires. While I will go off road some, I'll never need the stuff that comes on the off road. The only thing I miss is the power sliding rear window. I would really use that, but I have a much better looking truck than an Off Road for about the same $$$. I also like the color keyed fender flares on the SR5 and Sport, over the black ones on the off road.
