Maybe an increase in the rolling resistance compared to the old ones. If that's the only thing that has changed since the new tires they may be responsible.

The Firestones are suppose to be low rolling resistance. Looking at tire specs, they are 5 pounds per tire heavier. 20 pounds should not make that much difference. I could see it if I went to LT tires.

The 2.7 is extremely sensitive to tire weight.

I lost 25% economy when I left the OEM Dunlops.

When I went from the oem Firestones to Michelin rain-x that claimed improved rolling resistance I lost 2+ mpg and could tell immediately that my coasting was way shorter than before. Finally after 50K they are approaching the Firestones.

    Destination LE black sidewall 31lbs
Destination LE raised white letters 36lbs
I bought the raised letter version.

Refineries can start making winter blend September 15 and summer blend April 15.

Not only does the raised letters weigh 5 pounds, they are raised enough to cause wind resistance :D. The psi on the tires was 34 to 35. I will see what the next tank gets.

i just got my truckrecently but I have been running the doneflops at 32psi, the door jam says 30psi all 4 tires,i notice if I get 160-165 miles on the 1st 1/4 tank of gas I will be close to 24.5-25 mpgs which is pretty good. my next tire after the doneflops will be the Michelin ms2 in p245/75/16 they are 35lbs. a tire the doneflops 32lbs. hopefully the fuel mpgs will be the same I know the ms2s will ride and perform a whole lot better for sure.

My MPG is slowly increasing. :) I swapped vehicles with my mom for a week for vacation. The Taco had a lowly 20 mpg for the week:mad:

Just read a few of the first pages, and a few of the latest pages.

I have a 2nd gen 4x4, 4cyl, manual, access cab, long bed, stock wheel/tires, removed carbon paper filter thingy. The tank is around 21 gal I think. If you have the same truck and get more than 400 miles out of a tank, please don't drive in front of me or hold up the left hand lane, you are in fact the person I scream obscenities at on a daily basis! Hit the gas and get where you need to be damn it!

Obviously I would pass you on the left, as long as you aren't trying to drag race a semi up a hill on the interstate :)

The stogey, not so much. But weaving AND using signals, yes!
Always use your signal, AT THE VERY LEAST drive the speed limit if not a little faster. The rest of the world has somewhere to be, that's why you bought a vehicle in the first place.

470.7 miles to the light. Tank was filled to first click only. 85%hwy, CC set at 60mph (used digital speedo on Waze app).

    http://imgur.com/a/yC7xh

I haven't filled up yet to confirm, but I'm thinking this tank might be north of 26mpg.

    Edit: 25.98mpg
