This time last year I had a brand new 16 inferno off road, I had some problems with it and the dealer took it back. I promised myself that I would not get another one and possibly look at a 15 or another brand. Welllllll that didn't stick for long. I just picked up a 2017 dcsport 4x4 with tech and jbl, I have owned it for a few hours and I am very pleased with the truck. The only thing the truck is missing is a tonneau cover and steps. I am happy to be back to the Toyota family and hope this time around is a much better experience.

Yea I hope. I am not sure if I should do oem cover and steps, I like the warranty you get but I'm thinking I could pick up a better option online.

Yea I would prefer a tie fold because i often use half the bed rather than taking it off completely. I think the oem steps were around 400 and the cover around 450. I'm sure I could find cheaper

The 16 had some issues so the dealer purchased it back a few weeks after purchased last year. I did not receive as good of a deal on the 17 as I did the 16.

No not really, I did not need the capabilities of the or and to me the sport drove much smoother. I also liked the look.

The only thing I would have changed about the truck is switching to a long bed instead of a short bed.

Unless things are different where you are or I'm misunderstanding things, only accessories purchased with the truck are warranted for the 3yr/36k. Buy them in a separate transaction and the warranty is 12mo/unlimited-miles.

Also, OEM tonneau doesn't seem to be readily available new except if ordered with the truck; I think someone located a Canadian dealer selling them, but even with the exchange rate it was looking to be a very pricey thing even before considering shipping charges.

BTW, congrats on the new truck.

Only 250 miles so far, but loving it. Smooth and refined compared to my old Baja. My family loves it! Wife isn't usually happy with my vehicle purchases, but with this one I have to say it's her favorite of them all!! Happy wife..happy life.

Yea didn't know about the shorter warranty, thanks for the heads up. I will talk to them tomorrow, I was at the dealer for a few hours so I just wanted to get the hell out of that place.

I actually talked to one of the master techs that happens to be a big truck guy, he told me that many of the problems with had been covered with the new ones like the low fluid levels and tranny shift points. Those are the only issues that I knew about.

Is it also true that many of the issues with the vibration has only been seen on the off roads? I was told that it was because of unbalanced driveline.
